About Sheryl Ziegler
I have a Doctorate in Psychology, have been a Clinical Director of a Residential Treatment Facility for Children and have successfully founded a group private practice, The Child and Family Therapy Center at Lowry in Denver, Colorado. Over the past several years I have held consulting positions, one at CereScan, a neuroimaging company and one at a community mental health center. I sit on the board of directors at Mount Saint Vincent’s Home for Children. I have been an adjunct professor for Doctoral Students in Play Therapy at The University of Northern Colorado. I co-founded "Start with the Talk" which is a mother-daughter series on the tween years. I use humor to educate girls and their mothers on puberty, menstruation, middle school, social/emotional functioning and bullying. I am also a regular NBC and Fox News contributor in Denver. On radio and the podcast world, I have been featured as a subject matter expert to topics related to parenting. In print, I have been interviewed for The New York Times, Washington Post, Huffington Post, 5280 magazine and in The Denver Post for front page investigational series pieces- all pertaining to mental health issues that pertain to children. Nationally on television, I was featured on the Katie Couric Show as a result of being a contributor in a Denver Post article that ran about the Legalization of Marijuana. Since then, I have been asked to speak about the topic and asked to participate on the Governor’s panel for educating 12-15 year old kids on the effects of marijuana.
In February of 2018 my upcoming book, Mommy Burnout, how to reclaim your life and raise healthier children in the process, will launch in the US. This has been reviewed a "superb self-help guide" for working and stay at home moms who feel exhausted, overwhelmed and lonely in their lives as moms. Mommy Burnout was bought by Dey Street Books, an imprint of HarperCollins, in 2016. For more information check out www.drsherylziegler.com.
