About Elana Katz
Elana Katz has devoted her career to helping people understand and address their most important relationships, and she also trains other professionals in this work. She is a senior faculty member at the Ackerman Institute for the Family and she has presented nationally and internationally on family therapy, mediation, and collaborative divorce, including trainings in Argentina, Chile, Israel and Mexico.
One of the first therapists in New York to become certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy, as an EFT Trainer she teaches and supervises EFT in New York and imminently in Israel. Elana was previously on faculty at the Yale School of Medicine where she supervised psychiatry residents and consulted to family treatment for patients in the general hospital setting. She has been quoted by the New York Times, the Associated Press, and other media outlets, including National Public Radio. Additionally she is a recipient of the Pioneering Award from the Association of Divorce Financial Planners for "being a Leader, Innovator, and Mentor in the Management and Reduction of Marital Conflict".
Elana is active in professional organizations, currently serving on the Board of the New York Association for Collaborative Professionals and the Executive Board of the New York Center for EFT, where she is also a founding member. Her private practice in therapy, mediation, and collaborative divorce is in the Flatiron District in Manhattan.
