All couples fight — even happy couples. There's no getting around this fact. But the secret to happiness in a relationship are the things you do after a fight, things that heal wounds so you can grow closer. 

Unfortunately, only a few people grew up with that type of epic love modeled by their parents, but they're skills any of us can learn now.

1. You take responsibility instead of assigning blame

Instead, happy couples understand that intimacy doesn’t require agreement.
