About Selena Coppock
Selena Coppock is a standup comedian, writer, and storyteller based in NYC. She has been called a "dark horse audiences never see coming" by The Village Voice and an "impressive young talent" by the New York Times. Bustle called her one of the 8 Funniest Feminists on Twitter and TheFrisky ranked her one of the 25 Funniest Feminists on Twitter.
In May 2013, she published her debut book, THE NEW RULES FOR BLONDES (It Books/HarperCollins). The book is collection of hilarious, personal essays celebrating and subverting the blonde stereotype. Her writing has also been featured on Jezebel, McSweeney's, Reductress, The Loom, xoJane, Huffington Post, TheFrisky, and she was a contributing writer to the TVLand sicom "Younger."
Her storytelling abilities have been showcased on myriad stages and podcasts including RISK!, The Soundtrack Series, Stripped Stories, and The Moth Story Slam (where she tied for 1st in March 2011).
Selena has been seen on Fox Sports 1, HuffingtonPost Live, VH1, RooftopComedy, CollegeHumor, and elsewhere. She has also been featured in Marie Claire Italy and on the Glamour magazine blog, the Lucky magazine blog, the Examiner, the Boston Globe, LA Weekly, Boston Metro, and the Boston Phoenix.
When not pushing her pro-blonde agenda, Selena can usually be found in a dive bar lamenting the breakup of Guns ‘n Roses and putting Bob Seger’s “Night Moves” on the juke box.
