About Nia Ita
Nia Thomas is a self-proclaimed fitbit junkie and an extremist with everything she loves. She loves her dog, her family and friends, reading while drinking exotic hot teas and listening to music. Most importantly, she loves love and spends a lot of her time trying to understand how it works and how to help it grow. Whether it’s self-love, romantic love or brotherly love, she believes that we experience ultimate joy when love is present.
As a daughter, sister, wife and friend, Nia can best be described as a disciplined, decisive and passionate woman who loves hard. She learns from her mistakes, reflects on her behavior and shares her experiences along the journey.
Nia holds a BA in Communication Disorders and Black Studies, and an MS in Speech-Language Pathology. She's a surprisingly empathetic (born and raised) New Yorker who always strives to see the best in people and the world.
Whether you are feeling lonely, anxious, guilty, ashamed, overwhelmed or inadequate – Nia can empathize! She specializes in analyzing emotions to find the heart of the problem and make improvements for a better quality of life. She emphasizes different communication styles as they are shaped by race, gender and culture and what this means for the facilitation of successful relationships.
