Born in California, Michael Drury grew up among the redwoods and graduated from Stanford University, where she had already become a professional writer. Drawn to New York City, she worked at Harper’s and Life, then went on to write seven books and over 300 feature articles, stories, profiles, essays and poems for the popular magazine press.
