Carolynn Kingyens was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia. She is the author of two poetry collections Before the Big Bang Makes a Sound and Coupling, both published by Kelsay Books and available on Amazon and bookstores in US and Canada such as Barnes & Noble, McNally Jackson, Book Culture, Indigo Chapters, Novel Idea, and Bookland. In addition to poetry, Kingyens writes narrative essays, book & film reviews, and short fiction. Her short stories "Bye-Bye, Miss American Pie" and "The Invitation" were selected for The Best of Fiction List for 2021 and 2023, respectively, by Across the Margin, a Brooklyn arts & culture webzine. She has been married to her best friend for twenty-five years this November, and shares two beautiful, kind, and very creative daughters.
