About Joel Poremba
Joel Poremba is a business attorney with twenty-five years of litigation experience in both state and federal courts.
He is a graduate of Western State University, College of Law. He attended the University of California, San Diego where he obtained his bachelor's degree in political science. He is currently a master's candidate at Yeshiva University's Fish Center studying part time in the Holocaust Studies program.
Joel is the son of Holocaust survivor Nathan Poremba.
Stunned after hearing his father give his testimony in 1998 to the Shoah Foundation Visual History Archive, it would take twenty-one years and an inspiring trip to Israel in 2018 for Joel to finally watch his father’s video testimony. Determined, Joel then further interviewed his father about the painful details of his Holocaust survival. This then led to the recently published memoir of Nathan's story in My Name is Staszek Surdel.
