About Doug Noll
Doug Noll is a lawyer turned peacemaker, specializing in difficult, complex, and intractable conflicts. He graduated from Dartmouth College, earned his law degree at University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law where he was a member of the law reivew, and earned his M.A. in Peacemaking and Conflict Studies from Fresno Pacific University. He is an author of the award-winning book Elusive Peace: How Modern Diplomatic Strategies Could Better Resolve World Conflicts (Prometheus, 2011) He is also the author of Sex, Politics & Religion at the Office: The New Competitive Advantage (Auberry Press 2006), with John Boogaert, and Peacemaking: Practicing at the Intersection of Law and Human Conflict (Cascadia 2002) and, numerous articles on peacemaking, restorative justice, conflict resolution and mediation Doug is a trainer, lecturer, and continuing education panelist. In February 2012, Doug was honored by California Lawyer Magazine as a California Attorney of the Year for his Prison of Peace project, co-founded with Laurel Kaufer.
In 2014, Doug created the Its Pure Magic online deep listening skills workshop.
Doug is also a second degree black belt in Chinese kung fu and has taught tai chi for over 10 years. He is a certified Pranic Healer. He has a variety of other interests and accomplishments including certification as a Level III ski instructor, instrument-rated private pilot with multi-engine and helicopter ratings, Irish fiddle and jazz violinist, whitewater kayaker and rafter, and steelhead fly fisherman.
