About Barbarakennedy
Barbara Kennedy was a registered investment advisor for more than 20 years in New York City when she became interested in human behavior and spent several years at New York Medical College, in the Graduate School of Health Sciences, creating preventive programs for organizations and community partnerships.
With a Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) in Behavioral Science, she returned to corporate work where she created mentoring and team building programs. Adding a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work (MSW) from Arizona State University’s School of Public Programs, she trained with the AZ Attorney General's office in mediation. She uses mediation techniques in family conflict resolution and partnership disputes.
As a Health & Psycho Educator in private practice in Scottsdale, Arizona, Ms Kennedy strives to empower her clients—individuals, couples, families and corporate entities--to understand behavior, boundaries and barriers, and she teaches them to develop healthy, positive, mutually respectful, and satisfactory relationships and partnerships.
Her newest book, “BABY BOOMER MEN LOOKING FOR LOVE” was written so that men may become aware of underlying issues and barriers to understanding women, honoring the differences between men and women, and pursuing lifelong commitments.
Baby Boomer men especially, with a few decades yet of health and vitality on the horizon, are most at risk for not taking the opportunity to move out onto the dance floor and give it one last twirl.
Ms. Kennedy’s first book, “Second Chance Ranch” won the 2006 Southwest Book of the Year and the Arizona Author’s Association Award; her second book “The Holding Pen—A Collection of Unusual Love Prose” is an anthology about women struggling in their relationships. Her newest novel, “Hurrah’s Nest,” will be published in February 2011, and the relationship sequel for women, “1,001 First Dates—Love On Line: LOL” will be out spring 2011.
A prominent public speaker, Kennedy was the keynote speaker at the first AZ “Women in Power” luncheon and opening of the Glendale Arena in 2006.
Her practice is located in Scottsdale. Visit www.MadisonAvenuePublishers.com to learn more.
