The Many Loves Of Bret Michaels

Musician and reality-TV star Bret Michaels was hospitalized Thursday with a life-threatening brain hemorrhage, and he remains in the intensive care unit, according to his personal site. Saturday, the winner of season 2 of Bret's reality show, Rock of Love, made what turned out to be an incorrect statement about Bret's condition—TMZ reported that Ambre Lake told them Bret was awake and talking, but his father, Wally Sychak, later said that Ambre was mistaken. Pamela Anderson

Bret's fellow reality-show star (Pam is currently competing on Dancing With the Stars) was also his ladyfriend for a brief time in the '80s, before Pam married Tommy Lee. As you'd expect, they made a sex tape, which caused Bret some agita in 2005; he successfully managed to get the tape's release suppressed. But the lack of video evidence didn't stop him from getting in squabbles with Pam's later husbands, Tommy and Kid Rock. Bret and actress Kristi began dating in 1994 and have two daughters, 9-year-old Raine and 4-year-old Jorja. During the filming of Rock of Love Bus, he said, "Everyone says that (the show's a scam), because of my relationship with Kristi. The winner of season 1 of Rock of Love didn't ride off into the sunset with Bret; after the finale aired in 2007, Jes said she hadn't heard from Bret since taping finished and that she was living in Chicago and had a boyfriend. "If it was for real, and you really wanted to see somebody, you make it work," she told the Chicago Daily Herald. Of course, avid Rock of Love watchers could have told Jes it wouldn't work out; even she told Bret during the reunion show that he should have picked Heather. Meh.

Ambre Lake

Bret and his second pick for the lady to rock his world actually did date—for three months. The show ended in April 2008, and their tour came to its glorious end in July. "Bret and I truly love each other and support each other. But with him touring so much and me trying to travel and work, we just didn't have a lot of time to dedicate to our relationship. It was mutual. We're both bummed," Ambre said at the time. But Bret and Ambre stay in touch, as we've seen from her statements, however erroneous, about his condition over the past few days. Bret's most recent rock of love survived the chaos that was the bus, and for this we think she deserves her own prize bandanna. Penthouse model Taya won Bret's heart in April 2009 and was extremely concerned when a falling set piece broke his nose at the Tony Awards last June. And we were also concerned, once we stopped rewinding it on the DVR and laughing, because that was hilarious. Bret and Taya dated through the summer, but since he's hinted there might be a fourth season of Rock of Love, we guess her tour ended.
