YourTango is seeking a creative, motivated Photo Editing & Graphic Design Intern to work closely with our experienced design and editorial team. This internship offers an opportunity to learn the intricacies of online publishing, pitch innovative design ideas, and create compelling visuals for web and social media platforms.

We are proud to foster an inclusive, empowering culture where interns are supported and encouraged to contribute meaningfully. Many of our interns transition into permanent roles with the company after their internships.

Responsibilities:

  • Source lifestyle images from Shutterstock for use in articles.
  • Edit, crop, and size images for web content and social media, uploading them to the CMS.
  • Design composite images for headers, infographics, thumbnails, and more using Photoshop and Canva.
  • Create Pinterest pins, board covers, infographics, and quote images for social media.
  • Design Instagram stories and grid posts.
  • Pitch creative design ideas and templates to the team.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Skilled in graphic design and photo editing, with a keen eye for detail and speed.
  • Can create multiple quality graphics per week, adhering to instructions and feedback.
  • Is pursuing or has obtained a degree in graphic design, art, photojournalism, advertising, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and quick communication via email and Slack.
  • Able to meet strict deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic about design.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Photoshop.
  • Familiarity with Canva or similar editing apps.
  • Access to a computer with reliable internet.
  • Knowledge of design trends, typography, and styles.
  • Availability to work a set schedule (20 hours/week) during weekdays and business hours.

Eligibility & Compensation:

  • Receive a $1,500 stipend upon completion of the internship.
  • Eligible for college credit.
  • This internship adheres to the Fair Labor Standards Act and the standards set by the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division.
