Sometimes when we overthink a situation, we become conflicted with ourselves. We find ourselves at a mental crossroads and aren’t sure how to make up our own minds because we are looking too deep at the situation.

This creates the worst battle you can face: the battle between your head and your heart.

The fight between what you feel and what you know. The struggle between optimism and logic.

Your heart will always fight for the optimistic side of the situation. It will always be searching for the positives in what could be. It will always be looking for the light at the end of the tunnel and searching for the good in people.

Your heart will always want to take their side and try to see it from their point of view.

Your heart is a dreamer and believes that miracles can happen. At the end of the day, your heart is always trying to see the good, hoping for the best, and ready to leap into anything that may seem worthwhile.

Your head, on the other hand, will be critical.

It will always be picking them apart and looking for the logic to the situation. It will always be making sure that you stay down to earth with your reasoning and that you are weighing all the pros and cons.

Your mind is the true overthinker by bringing reality back into the situation. Your head is going to make sure you don’t go overboard and don’t jump before you are ready.

When it comes down to it, your head will always make sure that you have thought long and hard about the decision before jumping into it.

So when it comes down to it, which do we choose? Do we go with our hearts and hope for the best, or do we use our heads and stick with the straight and narrow path?

Do we reach for the stars and go for our dreams or do we stick with what we know and take the less risky way? Do we try to find the good in it all or do we see the situation for what it really is?

Sometimes we add a plot twist to it all and go with our gut instinct. Your gut instinct can sometimes be a mix of both your head and your heart.

You use your head to weigh the pros and cons of what your heart is telling you, but then there is still that little something that is holding you back from jumping in. That is your gut.

Your gut instinct will always try to lead you down the right path, no matter the logic to it all or what your heart may be ultimately telling you. Without getting into too much logic or letting your heart get in the way, what was your first reaction to it all?

There is something about this instinct inside us all that our head and our heart will never beat in a competition, because it always just knows what the best decision is for us at that moment.

Sometimes it is the most difficult thing to decide how to choose, by using your head or following your heart. Our body will try to make us overthink it all, but at the end of the day, sometimes we just have to go with our gut instinct.

It might not always be right, but sometimes it is just what we need to do. Don’t be afraid to make a decision if your gut is telling you that is the right way to go.
