Who Is Jules Wainstein? 'Real Housewives Of New York' Star Arrested For Alleged Assault — See Mugshot
This isn't looking good for her.
She may no longer be on Real Housewives of New York, but Jules Wainstein is certainly finding a way to continue to make headlines — and not necessarily in a good way, either.
This week, news broke that Wainstein was arrested for allegedly assaulting her estranged husband, and it's not looking good for this former reality TV star.
But who is Jules Wainstein to begin with? Here are all the details — and what happened that led to her arrest.
1. Wainstein was arrested after allegedly punching her ex in the face.
On Sunday afternoon, Wainstein was arrested in Florida after a fight with ex Michael Wainstein got physical while they were exchanging their children in a parking lot. Allegedly, Wainstein not only kicked Michael's car and hit It with a baseball bat, but she also punched him the face as their children looked on from inside the car. She appeared in court on Monday, and her arraignment is scheduled for March 16.
2. Her estranged husband has obtained a protection order against her.
Michael now has a protection order against Wainstein and now, it sounds like he may have custody of their kids, too.
“This is a serious situation reflecting Ms. Wainstein’s increasingly reckless behavior that unfortunately took place in front of the kids,” his lawyer, Morghan Richardson, said in a statement. “The children were released to Michael’s custody yesterday and he is most concerned about protecting them.”
3. Wainstein and her ex have been in the process of divorce for awhile now.
Their divorce goes all the way back to the summer of 2016, when they first announced that they were splitting. Since then, it seems like there's been a constant battle over the particulars of their divorce and custody agreement, and Wainstein has said that it was during her time on RHONY that she realized divorce was imminent.
"It was during the show that I realized that I was all alone," she said in a 2019 interview. "I think when everything came out that we were getting divorced it was horrible because I have two young children. As much as my life is on television, there are things that are private — and also, I was devastated."
4. But who is Jules Wainstein? She was only on RHONY for one season.
Wainstein made her RHONY debut in 2016 — as she said, the same time she and Michael were getting divorced. After a stint on the show's eighth season of the show, she was gone.
"Jules is going good through a divorce and is putting her family first," her rep said in a statement at the time.
5. She's interested in fashion and business.
According to her Bravo bio, Wainstein went to school for fashion and has worked both in that industry and as an event planner.
"Inspired by her father’s successful career as a fashion entrepreneur, Jules studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, eventually securing her first job as an assistant buyer and designer at a boutique fashion company in SoHo," her bio says. "A true businesswoman at heart, Jules honed her socialite skills as an event planner for the Women’s International Zionist Organization, a non-party international movement that raises money for schools and programs for women and the elderly in Israel."
6. She shares her life with her children on Instagram.
Wainstein has two children, Jagger and Rio, and although it's unclear how or if her custody arrangement will change following her arrest and court date, she posts about them constantly on social media. When she's not sharing photos with her kids, Wainstein is an entrepreneur, and she's created her own detox drink called Modern Alkeme Clearing Tonic.
