It's pretty common to feel the weight of responsibility, especially when we've consciously signed on for whatever it is we've taken on. Responsibility is like a contract: sometimes it's written and sometimes it's spoken, but the ramifications are always the same: "This needs to be done, if you say yes to the work, then it's all on you."

For some, that's a huge thrill. Knowing there's a goal to accomplish is exciting for some, and for others, it's the fastest route to dread and stress. We don't always know the depth of responsibility we are taking on, and sometimes that doesn't matter because, in our minds, we've already decided it's too much.

Oddly, for some zodiac signs, that rationale doesn't always send them away; in fact, they gravitate towards situations that will demand much of them — ones they feel obligated to take on.

Sometimes when we take on too much responsibility, we do it because we can't say no. We're afraid to cause an upset so we just agree to whatever is asked of us.

There's a difference between taking on responsibility and taking on too much of it, and that is where it shows in astrology. Some love the stuff, some hate it, and some sign on for too much simply because they don't know they have a choice.

1. Cancer (June 21 - July 22)

Cancer doesn't necessarily intend to take on too much responsibility, but they certainly do like to plan for huge events — things that will take an awful lot of work to produce. They are wildly attracted to gathering large groups of likeminded individuals together for some sort of celebration, and we all know that tasks like this are hard work if they are to be successful.

Cancer rises to the cause and takes on the most responsibility, mainly because they love people and want to see everyone happy. That's a hard chore to take on, but Cancer is here to save the world, of course.

2. Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)

There's no such thing as "too much" responsibility when you're a Capricorn. They live for the stuff, as they have the confidence to take on huge, pressure-filled responsibilities, knowing they will complete them, and well. They are also quite competitive, so they will grab the opportunity that is the most challenging, knowing they are there to win and never to lose.

With Capricorn, if the work is mundane and without risk, it's not worth putting all that attention on, whereas a good, pressure-filled task, like writing a legal document, can be one of the biggest Capricorn thrills there is. Go big or go home, says Capricorn.

3. Leo (July 23 - August 22)

Leo is all too keen on taking on huge responsibilities. They don't see anything as too much to handle; in fact, the greater the responsibility, the greater the kudos will be later for accomplishing this grand act. They think big and desire bigger, so there's no point for Leo to stand around waiting for someone else to get the job done.

Nope, it's Leo to the rescue. Whether it's writing a screenplay in two months or hanging off a scaffold to paint a set for the Oscars, Leo steps up to the plate and does the right thing. They take on too much, but the after-effect of all the work is like basking in the sun. They radiate positivity like the sun at midday.

4. Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)

Any responsibility is too much responsibility for Sagittarius, and it's not because they can't deal with it — it's because they finish whatever they start, and if they sign on for something that demands a proper finish, they will work on it until it completion. And that drains them, because they are committed to finishing whatever task they take on.

Sagittarius fills themselves with stress each time they say yes to a new project. Oh, the project will be completed on time and very well done, but Sagittarius themselves will have gone through hell to make this happen.

5. Aries (March 21 - April 19)

Aries gets a charge out of taking on new projects, and new, heavy responsibilities. They love it; it makes them feel involved, important and productive. This kind of desire to be heavily involved isn't restricted to jobs — it can be found in all manner of daily life. For example, having children. They want them!

Aries feels at home with too much responsibility because they enjoy the pressure and work best when under it. Pressure causes them to become excellent, and the perfectionist in them really likes the results of concerted self-effort.

6. Virgo (August 23 - September 22)

While being diligent workers — the kind you can really and truly rely on — Virgo is also the first one to take on way too much responsibility. They may do it out of guilt, an off-base feeling that leads them to believe they "have" to take on this intense amount of responsibility... or else.

Virgo tends to live in fear of losing their job, so they become the "yes" people. They say yes to whatever their boss tells them to do, and while it does drain them, it also gives them a sense of security. If they do the job, they get to stay.
