Getty Images Is Grimes pregnant? The woman born Claire Elise Boucher is professionally known to the world at large as Grimes. She's a Canadian singer-songwriter whose music combines a variety of genres including pop, hip hop, and R&B.
However, these days, she's best known for being the longtime girlfriend of one Elon Musk. They met all the way back in 2018, and theirs is a love story that's very modern in its origin — we will, of course, get to that.
Now, however, there are rumors abounding that she's pregnant and that Elon Musk is the father of her baby. Let's look at what we know about these rumors.
1. Is Grimes pregnant? She made a social media post suggesting she was.
In an Instagram post that was subsequently deleted from the site, Grimes implied that she was pregnant with Elon Musk's child. She subsequently uploaded an edited version of the photo to her account with the caption, "Censored for insta haha - almost got away w it!"
In the photo, she super-imposed a sonogram of a baby over her stomach while covering her breast, which all but seems to announce her pregnancy.
2. But some people think she's merely promoting her new album.
It's not clear why such an idea would be advisable, but there are some people who are suggesting that Grimes is merely trying to promote her new album, which is scheduled to be released sometime in the first quarter. The album, called Miss Anthropocene, has already debuted its first single, "So Heavy I Fell Through The Earth," late last year.
3. Grimes seems to be very in love with Musk.
Grimes and Musk met all the way back in 2018 on the social media platform Twitter. They followed one another on the site and made their debut as a couple at the Met Gala that same year.
In interviews about her relationship with the Tesla founder, Grimes referred to him as a "very interesting person" and made clear that she "loved him."
4. Although this will be the first child for Grimes, this will be the sixth child for Musk.
Musk has five other children from his first wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson. Tragically, their first son, Nevada, died of SIDS when he was just ten weeks old.
However, Wilson and Musk went on to have five more children through in-vitro fertilization. The first birth yielded a set of twins; the second, a set of triplets.
5. Despite being high-profile people, the couple has managed to keep their relationship private for the most part.
Grimes and Musk are far from a high-profile celebrity couple. On Grimes' Instagram, for instance, she doesn't share any "boo'ed up" photos of herself with the Tesla founder, and barring a few one-off interviews, they rarely if ever speak about their relationship.
6. Presidential hopeful Andrew Yang congratulated the couple on their impending birth.
Andrew Yang, the Democratic presidential hopeful, took to his Twitter to congratulate Grimes and Musk on their impending birth. Musk and Yang have a long-standing friendship, and Musk has even endorsed Yang for the presidency.
