Megan Thee Stallion Sets The Record Straight About Tristan Thompson & Trey Songz Dating Rumors
She did not come to play.
Who is Megan Thee Stallion dating?
That has been the question on everybody's mind since her song "Hot Girl Summer" exploded onto the scene.
The latest rumors about Megan Thee Stallion's love life revolve around "Bottoms Up" singer Trey Songz and Khloe Kardashian's baby daddy, Cleveland Cavaliers center and power forward Tristan Thompson.
So what's going on in her life?
As the first female rapper signed to the 300 Entertainment label (whose other acts include Young Thug and TLE Cinco), Megan Thee Stallion, 24, whose real name is Megan Pete, has been capitalizing on the buzz for a few years now.
Her first inspiration was her mother, Holly Thomas, who rapped under the name Holly-Wood and brought Megan to recording sessions instead of putting her in daycare. Tragically, her mom passed away earlier this year after battling a brain tumor.
While Megan got her fair share of attention thanks to her 2016 mixtape, Rich Ratchet, and her single "Like A Stallion," it goes without saying that her 2019 single "Hot Girl Summer," which featured Ty Dolla Sign and Nicki Minaj blew her up into the mainstream.
But does that mean there's any truth the rumors she's dating either Tristan Thompson or Trey Songz?
Let's look at what we know about Megan Thee Stallion and her love life.
1. How the Tristan Thompson rumors began
On November 18, Tristan Thompson allegedly invited Megan Thee Stallion to a basketball game to watch him play.
Apparently, this was enough to spark dating rumors, and, as rumors often do, the tale grew taller with the telling, because the rumors went from "he invited her to a game" to "he slid in her DMs to invite her to a game with romantic intent."
2. Megan Thee Stallion quickly shut down those rumors on Twitter
A fan took to Twitter, tagging Megan Thee Stallion and urging her to "sue BSO (Black Sports Online)" because of their claim that she and Tristan Thompson were dating.
Megan Thee Stallion not only retweeted that, but added, "They literally made up a whole lie. I was at a Knicks game with my manager and my friend EJ."
So there goes that theory!
3. The month before, Megan was spotted hanging out with Trey Songz at a Halloween party
Megan Thee Stallion reportedly went to a Halloween party. where she was spotted hanging out with Jordyn Woods — Kylie Jenner's former BFF with whom Tristan Thompson allegedly cheat on Khloe Kardashian — and "Bottoms Up" singer Trey Songz.
That was the first time buzz surfaced linking Megan Thee Stallion and Trey Songz, but it wasn't the last.
4. Megan Thee Stallion was spotted hanging out with Trey Songz, again, at his birthday party
On November 21, Megan Thee Stallion was spotted out again with Trey Songz at Marquee Nightclub in New York City.
Songz was in town to celebrate his birthday, and his interactions with Megan certainly turned heads.
Later that night, Megan not only toasted Trey, but was also spotted "getting cozy" with him.
5. Once again, Megan shut the gossip mill down
Megan Thee Stallion was most recently linked to rapper Moneybagg Yo, with whom she also collaborated on single "All Dat", and she took to Twitter to make it clear that he's the only celebrity she's dated.
"Why y’all want me to be a 'hoe' so bad?" she asked. "Lol I’ve only dated ONE person y’all know about. All that other sh— is RUMORS/LIES ... I ain’t addressing sh— else bye."
6. So, who is Megan Thee Stallion dating?
As we mentioned above, Megan Thee Stallion has only (somewhat) confirmed that she dated Moneybagg Yo, with the rest being nothing but unnecessary speculation.
Making it clear to fans that she takes an empowered approach to her love life, she tweeted, "if I ain't claiming him, he ain't mine ... SIMPLE."
Yes, Megan Thee Stallion, it is indeed that simple.
