Meet Travis Mullen, 'Real Housewives Of Orange County' Star Gina Kirschenheiter's Boyfriend
The 'RHOC' star says she's "open" to it.
In an interview from September 2019, Real Housewives of Orange County star Gina Kirschenheiter revealed she would be "open" to marriage with her new boyfriend. Following allegations of domestic abuse against her husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, as she revealed on the RHOC season 14 reunion, Kirschenheiter has a new man in her life.
Who is Travis Mullen? While there's never a shortage of messiness and drama on any of the Real Housewives franchises, the latest shocker came when Gina admitted she may be ready to tie the knot again.
Kirschenheiter claimed that her new relationship made her rethink her stance on marriage — initially, she said that she was against it because it was "just a piece of paper" (though, in actuality, it is). However, because she's so in love with her new man, she's now ready to walk down the aisle again.
Did we mention that she said all this while still embroiled in drama with her ex? Because that would be par for the course. Anyway, let's look at what we know about this latest drama scene. Here are all the details on Gina Kirschenheiter's boyfriend, Travis Mullen, as well as what Gina revealed at the RHOC reunion.
1. Who is Travis Muleen? Gina's relationship with him is "still new."
Because nothing says "I'm needy and a glutton for punishment" like jumping into a new relationship while you're in the middle of drama with your previous one.
The New York Post reported that even though Gina Kirschenheiter's relationship with Travis Mullen is "still new," she's "having a lot of fun," and she can't wait to get married to him. (Not that this matters for anything, but "it's new, and we're having fun" is the standard line for "relationships" done solely for publicity purposes.)
2. Kirschenheiter and Mullen met through a mutual friend.
"We got set up through a friend and I don’t think either of us were expecting to like each other, you know? We just did, and it’s really easy and comfortable. He’s a great person. He’s a really good guy, really sweet, really kind and it’s nothing like I’ve ever really experienced before. I’m just really enjoying being with him and he’s pretty rad, so we’ll see what happens," Gina explained.
3. Kirschenheiter's estranged husband still has drama with her.
Amidst the preview of this new man, it was revealed Gina Kirschenheiter still has drama with her soon-to-be-ex-husband, Matt. Even though the exes share three children, they were probably better off apart.
They split up, then briefly reconciled, then Matt got arrested for domestic violence (gross!). So, yeah. Not exactly a healthy relationship.
4. Tamra Judge says that Gina has been seeing Mullen for a while.
"I love Gina and I’m really happy for her. He’s a good guy, he’s got kids the same age as [Gina’s kids] and he was divorced so they have a lot in common. She’s in a really good place right now,” she said, according to another report.
5. But some people are calling shenanigans on the "relationship."
"Gina’s new man is Travis Mullen. Even though their relationship is new, she is open to getting remarried for a storyline. The ink on her divorce papers isn’t even dry. She and Matt Kirschenheiter are still husband and wife until December. But, she does have a restraining order against him, so it’s not as if they’re hanging out on the reg," said one salty outlet, who's pretty much convinced that this relationship is nothing more than a work for the cameras. (And they're probably right.)
6. Will Gina Kirschenheiter and Travis Mullen get married?
Kirschenheiter's soon-to-be ex-husband refused to film on the show, which could be the reason why she shacked up with someone who was a little more accommodating to the camera. It's possible, however unlikely, that this is a real-deal relationship, and they will end up walking down the aisle.
7. Kirschenheiter recently opened up about her husband's domestic abuse.
As the RHOC cast celebrated the show's season 14 reunion in December 2019, Kirschenheiter spoke out about her soon-to-be-ex's alleged domestic violence.
Of the incident, which happened on June 22, 2019, she revealed, “He just was like a different person. I was really scared. I ran out of the house, and I rang my neighbor’s doorbell, and I was banging on the door. And he dragged me back in the house. A lot of the neighbors heard. They all called the police and then the cops came, they arrested him. It was scary. It was really scary.”
Kirschenheiter spoke further about the incident, stating, “I asked him to leave, it was bad. And then he was all, ‘I’m so sorry’ and I was like, ‘Fine.' I do feel bad, because I feel like he cracks. And I do feel that some of this is because of the show. He knew at this point that I had shared a lot of this on the show, and it’s not an excuse, but it’s really hard. I look at myself like a strong person, but I just think I’m always like, ‘I can hold it together,’ and thought I could handle everything. And, I don’t know, I didn’t see it. I thought it was normal.”
Matt Kirschenheiter was charged with two felonies in September 2019, but has denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty to both charges. He could face up to four years in prison for domestic violence and an additional three years for false imprisonment if he is convicted.
