The Masked Singer Spoilers: Who Is The Fox?
Is this A-lister lurking behind the mask?
Ladies and germs, it's time! The hour has arrived: the hour, to talk about all things The Masked Singer and the spoilers we've got are hot n' ready to go. That's right friends, if you need to know who the people hiding under the masks and over the top ensembles are, you are in the right place because we're here to break it all down with the Masked Singer spoilers.
Who is the Fox?
Season one of the hit show (based on a super-popular South Korean show of the same name) introduced American audiences to reality TV programming like we'd never seen it before. Each week, two heavily costumed celebs took to the stage in a battle of song.
Along the way, the judges watching and the viewers at home were forced to guess who hid beneath the mask based solely on their performance and on the clues dropped throughout the episode.
Returning this season is last year's stellar assortment of judges who aren't just keen to solve mysteries, they're eager to riff around and keep audiences laughing, too! Season welcomed back Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke.
The show came back with a vengeance on Fox, so if you've cut the cable cord, make sure you know how to stream it. The judges each episode are just as in the dark as the rest of us at home when it comes to sussing out who is who, and it's not hard to get caught up trying to figure out which notable celeb is hiding in plain sight.
This season the producers have ratcheted up the tension and made the clues even more challenging, which should entice fans who might have found last season too easy to guess (who are these geniuses?). Showrunner Izzie Pick Ibarra has made it clear that while this season might be tough, they will still be giving up clues that should be able to help mindful viewers crack the case. "It’s a tricky balance," she said. "We try to give a good six to eight clues about somebody in some shape or form every episode.”
Are you ready for week eight performances yet? Before these identities can sweep us away, let's take some time now and track to crack the case of who could be hiding behind this mask, and if they have the vocal chops to go the distance and that they can "outfox" the viewers at home before all of the judges can figure out who they are.
Who is the Fox?
1. Clues
"This superhero is ready to devour the competition." Hmmm. Could it be an actor who has played a superhero? Or is that too easy?
Clues include the Fox saying he or she does their best work at night, that they dabble in many different genres, and that they have lived two different lives over the years.
2. Judge Guesses
The producers of the show have gone out of their way to make sure that this season is extra-tricky to guess, which could explain these weirdly challenging clues, or, in this case, clue singular.
Last season, Ken Jeong kept the viewers at home and the studio audience laughing themselves silly with his totally outlandish suggestions. I could see him trying to guess if a "foxy" actor is inside this apparel, perhaps an unlikely A-Lister like George Clooney?
3. Other Guesses
Because the clue references a superhero, fans on the web have two big ideas about who the Fox could be and both are stars of the MCU: Bradley Cooper or Jeremy Renner. Both men are talented musicians. Duh, Bradley Cooper won buckets of awards for his singing role in the smash hit movie starring Lady Gaga, A Star Is Born.
But Bradley isn't the only member of the MCU with pipes for days. Renner, who played Hawkeye in The Avengers has his own musical abilities too. Earlier this year he released three songs in partnership with the Jeep company. Could our favorite archer be moving to the small screen?
4. Best Guess
Weirdly, not a lot of people are saying Hugh Jackman, and that baffles me! Is not Jackman a definite bet? He's a song and dance man, he played Wolverine from the X-Men multiple times, a wolverine is like a fox... I mean, come on!
Right now, the best bet does look to be Renner, as much as we would love to see Bradley Cooper channel his inner Rocket Raccoon inside of a fox suit.
5. Twitter Guesses
Guesses on Twitter have ranged from Wayne Brady to Brendon Urie (from Panic! At The Disco) to Hugh Jackman.
