Jennifer Lawrence And Cooke Maroney Are Married — All The Deets On Their Rhode Island Wedding And A-List Guests
Congrats to the happy couple.
Is Jennifer Lawrence married? In September, Jennifer Lawrence and her fiancé Cooke Maroney were spotted outside of New York City's marriage bureau. The actress and her art dealer fiancé were flanked by two security guards, a photographer, and a friend, according to Page Six. The photographer was top celebrity photog Mark Seliger, known for shooting covers of Vanity Fair and GQ. He's worked with JLaw in the past. According to an eyewitness, Jennifer was holding a piece of official-looking paper and Cooke was covering his ring finger on his left hand. We thought at the time the couple may have snuck off and gotten married. Now we know that was not the case as the two married in a star-studded ceremony over the weekend.
1. Someone must know
I mean, come on, New York City has 8.6 million people in a very small geographical space. It is highly unlikely that JLaw got married without anyone else seeing them. In fact, someone did see them. A tweet was sent out into the world for a few brief moments before it was deleted. It said: "When you go get your marriage license, and Jennifer Lawrence walks by to tie the knot before your eyes. Yeah, kids, City Hall is COOL. The place to go!"
2. Are congratulations in order?
JLaw and Cooke got engaged in February. All reports said that they were getting married in a big, lavish ceremony. On June 13, Lawrence appeared on Catt Sadler's podcast Naked With Catt Sadler and said: “I saw a dress I liked, I was like, ‘That’s the dress.’ I saw a venue, I was like, ‘Cool, we got the venue.'" Well, now we know that the wedding Lawrence and Maroney were planning happened! Read on for more details.

On the same podcast, JLaw opened up about her engagement, saying: “It was so organic. I definitely wasn’t at a place where I was like, ‘I’m ready to get married!’ I just met Cooke, and I wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry each other. We wanted to commit fully. You find your favorite person on the planet, and you’re like, ‘You can’t leave.’ So I wanted to take up on that coffee. He’s the greatest person I’ve ever met.”
4. They were probably just getting their marriage license
Since JLaw and Cooke planned and had a big October wedding, the two were in all likelihood at the New York City Marriage Bureau to get their marriage license ahead of their wedding. That is an actual thing that people do.

5. The wedding
They did it! Over the weekend Jennifer and Cooke got married! The 29-year-old actress and her 34-year-old groom got married in Newport, Rhode Island at the very chic and luxurious Belcourt of Newport, according to People. It is basically a castle. And it is also a private home. The home was designed in 1894 and inspired by King Louis XIII's hunting lodge at Versailles. The current owner of the property is Alex and Ani founder and CEO Carolyn Rafaelian, who bought and restored the property in 2012.
6. It was an all-night party
The after-party got started around 12:30 am when waitstaff carried trays of burgers and other food from Boston's Baddest Food Truck as well as Maine-ly Labstah into the venue. The party lasted until nearly sunrise and Jennifer and Cooke were the last to leave around 5:30 am. A source on the inside told People: “They waited until all the guests were gone so they could personally say goodbye. When they left, Jen looked happy, but also a bit tired. She also looked stunning in a jeweled dress.”
7. The guest list
About 150 people attended the celebration of Jennifer and Cooke. A-list guests included Adele, Emma Stone, Kris Jenner, Ashley Olsen, Sienna Miller, Cameron Diaz, Nicole Ritchie, and David O. Russell.
8. What did she wear?
Jennifer Lawrence looked gorgeous with her hair in a loose up-do and a sparkling beaded gown. The dress is reportedly by Dior, though as of this writing there is no confirmation of that as yet.
9. She's planning to take his name
Goodbye Jennifer Lawrence and hello Jennifer Maroney. On the Naked With Catt Sadler podcast, Jennifer said: “He’s my best friend, so I want to legally bind him to me forever. And fortunately, the paperwork exists for such a thing! It’s the greatest."
