Biological Father Of Eminem's Adopted Daughter Whitney Scott Dies Of Overdose
He had just gotten out of prison.
Eminem is one of the greatest rappers and artists of our time, labeled the King of Hip Hop by Rolling Stone. He’s known for his violent and dark lyrics from his earlier albums, but for true Eminiem fans, they know this is just his alter ego, Slim Shady. His life has been highly publicized over the years, especially his tumultuous relationship with his ex-wife, Kim Mathers.
But underneath that rough exterior seems like a caring person and a great father. In fact, Eminem isn’t just the father of Hailie Mathers, his biological daughter with Kim; he also legally adopted two children. He has custody of Alaina, 25, Kim’s twin sister Dawn’s daughter, and Whitney, 17, Kim’s daughter from another relationship.

Dawn passed away in 2016 from drug abuse, and Whitney’s father has also struggled with drug addiction and a long rap sheet.
Who is Eric Hartter? Whitney’s birth father, a tattoo artist, was recently sentenced to prison for drug possession. And it appears he’s never really been part of Whitney’s life. When Whitney was born, Hartter wasn’t present for the birth and was allegedly on a wanted list by the police, suspected of selling drugs.
And on July 3rd, Hartter pleaded guilty to possessing drugs, the fourth time he’s been charged with such. Though he spent 93 days in jail up to that point, he was sentenced to an additional two months plus now two years probation.
According to Radar Online, he and two accomplices stole $200 worth of Red Bull from a CVS and were subsequently charged. While in jail, he was arrested for a second time for possessing Fentanyl and methamphetamine.
He didn’t appear for his April 17th court hearing, a warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was apprehended on May 28th. He also had a felony warrant out for his arrest in another county.
Sources say that Whitney has a relationship with her father, and that she's “devastated” by his continuing legal issues.
But it’s also apparent Eminem has stepped up over the years to make sure the cycle of absent fathers and drug addiction ends with him. The rapper just celebrated 11 years of sobriety in April.
On August 22, Eric Hartter died of a suspected drug overdose. He had recently been released from prison.
