6 Zodiac Signs That Feel The Most Guilt-Ridden
Self-loathing is their drug of choice.
Ah, good ol' guilt. Who doesn't love it? Answer: no one, but so many of us feel it, whether we like it or not. And while there are some who just don't take on that emotional overhaul, there are certain guilt-ridden zodiac signs in astrology who are weighted down, believing they deserve it.
Many think that guilt is associated with religious upbringing, but it's way deeper than that. And yes, certain religions do stress the idea of feeling guilty as a way of owning up to one's life, but most just take it upon themselves whether they are religious or not. Guilt is about feeling responsible for doing or being part of something that didn't work — or worse, it went as wrong as it could possibly go.
Some enjoy feeling guilty; it's an indulgence in self-hate, and for some reason, human beings really get into hating themselves. Such a shame. I mean, we're awful but not that awful... or are we? Guilt is like a warm blanket of self-loathing that usually just gives us time to pout and feel bad, rarely allowing us to actually heal or do anything more than enjoy the self indulgence of wallowing in the pain of it all.
So, you said something horrible to a friend and it hurt them. Now you feel guilty, responsible for their feelings. Do you use your guilt to motivate you to be a nicer friend? Or do you just stay in your little corner, licking your wounds while feeling you're the number one worst friend around? If you stay in the corner, it's because you like guilt.
1. CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Your narcissism makes you feel responsible for the happiness of all those in your life, and when someone doesn't respond well to their circumstance and it somehow relates to you, you feel like you've failed them, and you take on guilt. You love to berate yourself, and you will give yourself ample time to stew in your own guilt.
But thankfully, guilt has an expiration date for you. You allow yourself heavy doses of guilt, but you also know when to stop.
2. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
For someone who looks down on the world as if we're all slime, you are surprisingly guilt-ridden, Virgo. Perhaps that stems back to your tendency to overthink things, to ruminate.
So much of the world exists in your mind, so overthinking is exactly what you do. And if, for some reason, you get yourself into a mess, you automatically assume you're the one who ruined everything. You feel guilty, you wait for blame, and you set up your defense.
3. CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
No matter what your religion is, if you're a Capricorn, you might as well have been born in the Vatican because your guilt levels are so high. You love structure, you love when things work, and you plan your entire life for success and achievement.
When things fail, you plummet into despair. There's a guilt trip with your name on it, and you willingly claim it with all your soul. You feel responsible for the apocalypse. It's all on you, and you feel it all.
4. SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Guilt is what motivates you, but that is your deep, dark, guilty secret. You coin the phrase "guilty pleasure" because everything you do is part of a coping mechanism that helps you deal with all the terrible things you've done in your life.
If you punish someone for pleasure, what they don't know is that you're punishing them to alleviate the guilt of punishing the last person you ruined.
5. LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
You feel tremendous guilt, but it is selective, Libra. You could kill a person and not feel a thing, but if you don't pay a parking ticket, you'll drive yourself nuts with guilt and terror.
Strange how you pick the smallest, most innocuous things to take responsibility for, yet you have little to no compassion for the important things in life, like people's feelings or cutting folks up with a machete.
6. PISCES (February 19 - March 10)
Why feel anything else other than guilt, Pisces? This is your safe place, this is where your entire weepy, sad sack personality gets built. The guilt factory is ever-churning out new scenarios for you to take responsibility for.
You feel the most guilt because it involves you with other people, and that makes you feel less alone in this world. Even if you didn't "do it," you like to claim that you did, because you need motivation in your personal war on yourself. Guilt does the trick every time.
