Instagram Chloe Ricard is a 13-year-old teenager from Massachusetts. She was dumped at the emergency room of Lawrence General Hospital on Monday, May 20th under seriously mysterious circumstances. She had run away from home. Chloe's stepfather, Brian Dolan told Boston 25 News: “From what one of the police officers said at the hospital, she was brought in and dumped at the hospital. They said she was lifeless. No pulse, no nothing, they just drove in and dropped her off. She didn’t even have a pulse when they pushed her out of the car." Who is Chloe Ricard, what happened to her and who is the callous individual that pushed her out of the car at the hospital? How did Chloe Richard die?
1. She ran away from home
Chloe ran away from home in Amesbury, Massachusetts on Sunday night, May 19th, according to WHDH. Her family told the station that they were worried, but Chloe's friends assured them that she was going okay. Chloe's mom, Deborah Goldsmith-Dolan told Boston 25 News: “When I called the other friend, she said she was safe. And if you’re going to take off, tell me you’re safe." She did not hear from her daughter the next day and went to the police station to file a missing person's report. She recals being told: “I’m sitting at the police station, and one girl told me she is safe and someone dropped her off." That was not true. Chloe was not OK.
2. A 47-year-old man dropped her off
Brian Dolan, Chloe's stepfather, told the Boston Globe that he had been told that she was dropped off at the hospital by a 47-year-old man. Apparently police are aware of who dumped Chloe at the ER, but no arrests have been made. “The only thing I was told earlier from another agency is… someone 47 years old dropped her off. Whoever did this to my little stepdaughter, trust me, I hope there’s hell to pay because they threw her out of the car like a bag of trash. If that was your kid, if that was your sister, if that was your brother, or your mother, or your father, what would you do? I’m beside myself. From what one of the police officers said at the hospital, she was brought in and dumped at the hospital. They said she was lifeless. No pulse, no nothing, they just drove in and dropped her off,” Doland told the outlet. “She didn’t even have a pulse when they pushed her out of the car. How could someone do this to a 13-year-old? From what — you know I’m not speculating anything…her Dad passed away a few years ago, she never got over it. Kids today they think they’re invincible. You say, ‘Don’t smoke.’ They’re going to do it. ‘Don’t drink.’ They’re going to do it.”
3. How did she die?
Police reported that 13-year-old Chloe Ricard went into cadiac arrest by the time she was brought to the hospital. Some reports say she was dead when she was dropped off. Others say she died shortly therafter. An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday, May 21st, however, the cause of death is not expected to be immediately determined. In fact, according to officials, it could take some time. Her family had to indentify her body by her scars.
4. Tribute to Chloe
Chloe attended Amesbury Middle School, who remembers her as a "talented young artist." School Superintendent Jared Fulgoni said Chloe will be remembered for "her smile, her creativity and her huge heart." He told CBS Boston: “Chloe was a talented young artist. She was creative and found that she could sometimes best express herself through her artwork,” Fulgoni said in a statement. “She was kind to the younger students in the school and she showed great empathy for others.”
5. Her family wants answers
In an interview with CBS Boston, Debi Goldsmith-Dolan said: "You ruined my life. “All you had to do if she was sick was call the ambulance, do something to try and save her. You took away my world.” Brian Dolan said that his stepdaughter "had her problems" but was a great kid. He said: “This kid isn’t a bag of trash. This kid is a human being." Investigators are aware of who dropped Chloe off at the hospital, but the investigation is ongoing. Carrie Kimball, spokesperson for the Essex District Attorney's office told People that investigators are aware “where Chloe was and who she was with and they are conducting an investigation to determine what exactly happened leading up to her death.”
