The controversial YouTuber infamous for his conspiracy theory chasing videos recently surprised his boyfriend of three years Ryland Adams with a proposal. On March 19, Dawson, 30, revealed to his fans and followers that Adams happily said "yes."
“HE SAID YES!!!!!! :,))))))),” Dawson captioned a photo of the proposal, which looks like it took place on the beach. The newly-engaged couple commemorated the moment the best way they know how: with selfies.
Adams, who is also a vlogger, was eager to tell his fans about the news — and show off his new diamond-studded band — as well.
We’re engaged!! I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you," he wrote. "I’ve never been happier in my whole entire life.”

1. All the famous faces of YouTube congratulated the couple.
The Internet literally erupted with well wishes and congratulations for the newly engaged couple.
“CONGRATULATIONS OMFG,” makeup artist and YouTube personality James Charles tweeted.
"This makes me so happy," fellow YouTuber Grayson Dolan commented under Dawson's post.
There's no doubt that this guest list will be filled with the best of the best of YouTuber that Dawson's 21 million fans and Adam's 3.9 million, will be sure to envy.
2. Dawson proposed on their anniversary.
March 19 already held a special place in Dawson and Adams' hearts, and now even more so. Dawson got down on one knee on the couple's three-year anniversary.
“Ryland, thank you for making the last 3 years the happiest time of my life. Thank you for sleeping next to me even though i sweat through the sheets. Thank you for making me smile and reminding me how loved I am in real life even when I’m being cancelled online,” he joked.
The "cancelled online" joke is referencing the bestiality jokes Dawson made back in 2015 that had recently resurfaced. But he has reassured fans that he never performed any sex acts on his pet cat.
"Thank you for letting me cover you in fake tattoos and wigs for videos and sometimes just for a fun Saturday night. Thank you for loving me unconditionally and reminding me [every day] that I should love myself too. I thank the universe [every day] for bringing you into my life and I can’t wait to start a future with you and start every day thinking about how lucky I am. I love you more than I can ever even explain in words," the post continued.
3. This isn't the first time Dawson has been engaged.
Before Dawson started dating Adams in 2016, he was engaged to another YouTuber, Lisa Schwartz, who he started dating in 2011.
However, in 2015 the couple ended their engagement. Later that same year, Dawson came out as bisexual in an emotional YouTube video that has over 10 million views.
“I can’t honestly say I’m gay. I can’t honestly say I’m straight,” Dawson said in the video. “But I can honestly say that I am open to love, in any way, and I guess that makes me bisexual.”
4. Some people think the timing is weird.
Because of the alleged cat controversy, some people are accusing Dawson and Adams of getting engaged just to move the spotlight onto something more positive.
