Who Is Tayshia Adams? New Details About One Of The Final Contestants Vying For Colton Underwood's Heart On 'The Bachelor'
She was previously married.
Everyone and their mother who watches The Bachelor or The Bachelorette knows who Colton Underwood is. After being eliminated so close to the finals in Becca Kufrin’s season, he was ultimately chose as the Bachelor for the series’ 23rd season. Underwood is known for his career in football, as well as his pledge to remain a virgin until marriage.
So far on his season, we’ve seen 30 women vying for his affection, with only four contestants left. But there is one who stands out above the rest: Tayshia Adams. Just who is Tayshia Adams?
Not only did Underwood call her gorgeous upon first meeting her but host Chris Harrison said she’s “drop dead gorgeous” with “the brains to back it up.” She has brains, beauty, and guts, especially after facing her fear of bungee jumping head-on.
What else do we know about this contestant, though? Will she end up receiving the final rose from Colton Underwood? Here are six things to know about The Bachelor contestant.
1. She has a college degree.
In 2012, Adams graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor’s in Biology Medical Science.
2. She’s had a number of jobs.
Before she appeared on the Bachelor, Adams was a SoulCycle instructor in Newport Beach. But she also worked as a bookkeeper, and as an assistant to the human resources manager at Unlimited PEO Solutions. Currently, she’s a phlebotomist.
3. She volunteers.
According to her bio, she volunteers at her local church. She also recently completed a mission trip in Africa.
4. She was married.
Adams and her ex, Josh Bourelle, dated for six years before getting married and divorced in October 2017. She opened up on the show about how she felt ashamed for failing at marriage, and only told a few people about her divorce.
According to their marital settlement agreement, the exes each waived the right for spousal support. Bourelle received “all personal property, clothing and jewelry in his possession,” while Adams was awarded “all personal property, clothing, jewelry, furniture, furnishings and appliances now in her possession, including her armoire, dishes, glassware and Kitchen Aid.”
5. She may have had a boyfriend right before going on the show.
Her ex-boyfriend, Chase Olswang, says the two were dating exclusively up until the night before she left to go film the series. According to sources, Adams wasn’t ready for a relationship when she first met Olswang, as she was just divorced, but things quickly got serious. One source claimed, “It’s a messed-up situation. He was in love with her. He’s not anymore, but he still loves her.”
Olswang told Us Weekly that the two met at a bar, saying, “We fell in love really quickly... I moved some things around before she ended up deciding to leave [for The Bachelor], because she still wasn’t really sure if she was going to go on the show or not. She was still back and forth...she wasn’t sure. As it got closer, I could kind of see changes between us and I could kind of tell that she was leaning toward going. I don’t know all of the exact reasons for that.”
6. Fans are vying for her to be the next Bachelorette.
Though she’s considered a front-runner in the competition, if Underwood doesn’t choose her, fans are hoping she’ll appear on the next season of The Bachelorette for her own chance at love. But here’s hoping Underwood picks her!
