If confirmed, Ms. Nauert will succeed Ambassador and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley in the role. Haley announced her intention to resign in the fall of 2018. Who is Heather Nauert and who is Heather Nauert's husband?
Ms. Nauert has been working in the Trump administration since April 2017, when she was hired to be a spokesperson fot the Department of State. That was her first ever job in government, having previously worked as a television journalist. Immediately prior to coming to work for Trump, she had been a host on Fox & Friends. Before that, she worked at ABC news.
Nauert may have a very public work history but she keeps her personal life fairly quiet. She's married and has two children — not to mention several dogs — and has lived on Long Island before coming to DC. Her husband is a banker named Scott Norby.
What else do we know about Heather Nauert's husband? Read on to find out.
1. Midwestern
Nauert hails from Illinois originally and Norby is from Minnesota. While Nauert moved around a good bit for college, attending school in Massachusetts and Arizona, Norby stayed in the Midwest. he has a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a masters from the University of Chicago.
2. Mystery meeting
The couple hasn't shared how they met but they married in 2000. At that time Norby was working in investment banking in New York. Nauert was with FoxNews, also in New York. We can guess that they met and fell in love in the city.
3. Big player
Norby has worked for some of the biggest names in investment banking. His resume includes UBS Investment Bank, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and North Sea Partners, LLC.
5. Low profile
Norby doesn't have much of a presence on social media himself. Nauert is active on Instagram but keeps her posts more about work and travel than about her personal life. That doesn't mean Norby is invisible; Nauert is more than happy to show she loves her husband and father of her two sons.
6. Dog loving family
The family has several dogs, who make periodic Instagram appearances. While Nauert takes efforts to keeper his husband and kids' faces hidden from the camera by mainly photographing them from behind, she lets the dogs have their close up.
7. Hands on
Nauert says that Norby enjoys woodworking in his spare time. He one made chairs from a tree in their yard that was destroyed after Superstorm Sandy.
Despite the different public roles Nauert has taken, Norby seems content to stay more private. That will probably remain true as the family returns to New York for her latest job.
