Instagram Tinashe and Brandon Armstrong wowed judges with their high-scoring first performance on this week's Dancing With The Stars season premiere, but it was their palpable chemistry that had everyone asking one thing: Are Tinashe and Brandon Armstrong dating?
The pair kicked off their run on season 27 with what judge Bruno Tonioli called a “foxy jive” to Meghan Trainor’s “I’m A Lady.” The performance earned the highest score of the night with a 23 out of 30, and judges were quick to point out the pair’s chemistry.
“They both lit up when the judges and Tom talked about their chemistry, so you could tell they were into it,” a show source told Hollywood Life.
But the sparks between these two performers might not just be for show. “There was no denying Tinashe and new-comer Brandon Armstrong have insane chemistry both on and off the dance floor. He was trying to calm her nerves before they danced and it was so cute,” the insider continued.
So what does all this chemistry mean for the 25-year-old multi-platinum recording artist and the newest Dancing With The Stars pro?
If the rumors are true, it seems like the two may be more than just dance partners. Between their impressive performance on the dance floor and rumored romance behind cameras, the pair has already proven themselves the couple to watch this season.
The pair’s stellar first performance comes as no surprise, given star Tinashe’s background as a singer-songwriter, dancer, and performer. The R&B star shot to fame back in 2014 with the double-platinum smash-hit “2-On” featuring ScHoolboy Q. Since then, the artist has released a total of three albums, including 2018’s Joyride.
Prior to the rumors of her new romance with Armstrong, Tinashe was rumored to be involved with NBA finals MVP Kevin Durant following her breakup with Philadelphia 76er’s player Ben Simmons earlier this year. (Not to mention all that Kendall Jenner drama...)
New pro Brandon Armstrong was also destined for a strong start on this season of Dancing With The Stars. Although this week's season 27 premiere marks his first appearance as a pro competitor, Armstrong joined the cast as troupe member back in season 24.
And good news for fans of this budding romance, he appears to be single!
“Single...and ready to mingle!” he captioned an Instagram post from a friend’s wedding earlier this year.
Looks like the stars have aligned for these two, both on and off the dance floor!
