Who Killed Hollie Adcock? New Details About The Boyfriend Who Staged Her Murder To Look Like A Suicide

Shelby County Sheriff's Office / Facebook The boyfriend of Hollie Adcock was arrested Wednesday and charged with her 2017 death. He was also accused of faking her suicide note.
Adcock was found dead in her Memphis apartment April 9, 2017, with a gunshot wound to the head and a note. Her boyfriend, 29-year-old Jason Riley, called 911 to report she had shot herself in the head. Adcock was rushed to a local hospital where she later passed away.

Authorities later declared that the scene was staged and that the 22-year-old had been murdered.
Over a year and a half after the alleged murder, Riley was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force for Adcock's murder, Shelby County District Attorney General Amy Weirich announced Thursday.
A grand jury alleged that Riley staged the scene to make it look like his girlfriend committed suicide. The Shelby County Grand Jury indicted Riley on charges of first-degree murder, tampering with evidence, extortion and falsifying a police report. The indictment states that Riley is accused of coercing Adcock, restricting her freedom of action as well as producing a false suicide note with intent to affect the course of the investigation.
According to the Memphis-based news station, officers revealed that they believe Riley fired the shot. They added that Riley reportedly left messages on Adcock's phone threatening her if she broke up with him.
To those who know Riley, the threatening voicemails and texts are no surprise.
"I had a cousin who took one of his ex-girlfriend's to a prom, and the dude threatened my cousin's life," a man who knows Riley told WREG. "We grew up together. He had a side about him that would show jealousy and revenge."
Adcock's family issued a statement to the State Gazette regarding her death and Riley's arrest.
“These last 17 months have been incredibly difficult on our family and friends," it reads. "Hollie could light up any room and her loss has left a void that is impossible to fill. We know that God has sustained us during this time, and we know where Hollie is and we will see her again for eternity."
"We have prayed believing that the truth would be revealed and we continue to pray that justice will be served. This indictment does not bring Hollie back and our heart breaks for everyone involved. We cannot comment on any specifics at this time and we ask for you to please respect our family’s privacy as we navigate these tough days.”
Adcock attended Mississippi State University and was a member of a sorority at the college. Riley is being held on a $700,000 bond in the Shelby County Jail and pleaded not guilty.
