Who Is Caryn Chandler's Son? New Details About His Troubled Past
He recently opened up about his struggles.
Who is Caryn Chandler's son, Connor? Caryn Chandler has been featured on Little People Big World as Matt Roloff's girlfriend. Scandalously, they started to date before his divorce from Amy Roloff was final.
Fans of the show know a lot about Caryn and her relationship with Matt and the rest of the Roloff family but not that much about her son, as he's not featured on the show.
Here is what we know about him.
1. He was addicted to Xanax.
Connor took to Facebook to talk about his struggle with drug addiction."My name is Connor. And this is my story about how addiction almost took my life. I was 13 years old when I was first introduced to a drug called Xanax. Biggest mistake of my life was choosing to try it. Cause after that, I tried it again. Then again. And again. And again. I realized at the age of 15 I had a drug problem which I was at that point taking about 4 to 5 Xanax pills a day. It made forget, not feel, not care, not friendly, not me. Almost killed me, almost killed my relationship with my family, almost destroyed my entire life."
2. He had been in and out of rehab.
"I went through 8 Impatient [sic] Rehabs, 8 outpatient treatment centers, 2 group homes, 17 times in jail, 3 warrants, 12 hospital visits for overdose, and 4 friends death from overdose before I finally got myself clean."
3. He publicly apologized to his mom for his addiction.
"I want to apologize [sic] to anyone and everyone I have hurt in my life. Mom, I'm so sorry. I took you through hell and back with my past addiction [sic]. But just know, it's over, and that that's never going to change, I will continue to do good and stay sober for the rest of my life."
4. He says his mom saved his life.
“You are my rider mom, my soldier, my best friend, you saved my life 2 months ago letting me move back home so i didnt have to be homeless. I thank you for that.”
5. He also thanks another woman in his life.
“I also would like to thank Leah Christopher who is the most beautiful girl i have ever laid eyes on. You saved my life as well. You got me away from my old so called ‘friends’ that just dragged me down and kept handing me pills. You changed my views on life and drugs. You made me remember the true me. Thank you. I love you.”
6. He's sober now.
“Today. I am sober. I am happy. I am moving forward. About 2 months ago i decided to finally set down the drugs. Set down the fun, the parties, the friends, and change my life forever in a positive way. Not for anybody but myself. I have been working full time for over 2 months now as this is the first job i have ever been able to keep for more then 5 days. I am now getting a raise to 15$/hr on monday and and continueing [sic] to move foward [sic]. I move into my own apartment november 1st. I get my own car in 30 days. I got my life back. I got Connor back.”
7. He has a message for anyone else who's struggling.
“I am writing this message to anyone out there that is struggling with any type of addiction. You can do it. Go out there and get some help. Cut your ‘friends’ off, and watch your life change drastically. I thank anyone who supports me on staying clean. If you dont, delete me. By the way if you are family of mine please reach out to me, i have never had good communication with my dads side of the family and i would like to feel better knowing i have my family by my side. Thanks for reading a breif story about whats been going on in my life, i needed to tell it because i have never been this proud of myself in my entire life and need to prove to people who i really am. I love you all.”
