Who is Anne Hathaway's husband, Adam Shulman?
Adam Banks Shulman was born on April 2, 1981 in New York City. Hathaway was coincidentally born a borough over in Brooklyn, New York.
Shulman attended Brown University where he majored in Theatre, and received his B.A. in 2003. During his time in college, he participated in New York University's Tisch School summer program called "Sight and Sound," apprenticed at Williamstown Theatre Festival in 2000, and in 2001 did the same for The Eugene O'Neill National Theater Institute.
Needless to say, he has a background in theater and acting.

Adam Shulman is a jewelry designer, actor, and producer.
He founded James Banks Design, a jewelry company that’s... not cheap. He created the company with his business partner in 2011. And the coolest part of it all is that he helped design Hathaway’s engagement ring.
Since graduating from Brown University, Shulman had small roles on "Ricki and the Flash," "American Dreams," "The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning," and "West Wing." He was also a producer on the movie "Song One," which starred Hathaway and Johnny Flynn. Talk about being a jack of all trades.
Shulman is incredibly generous.
In 2013, with his business partner, Shulman created jewelry for the World of Children Award, a “foundation dedicated to advancing work on behalf of children worldwide.” They created pieces that incorporated the charity’s logo and 100 percent of the proceeds went to the foundation.
In an interview, Shulman said, “We wanted, when people wore it, for it to look like a piece on its own, but the closer you get, you say ‘What is that?’ It incorporates children, worlds... It looks like a flower blooming, but up closer it’s another thing. The concept of the key is, you put a key in and it unlocks. The key itself can’t work on its own, you need people — it’s a group effort. That’s what’s so beautiful about this organization — it’s not just one person.”
How did Anne Hathaway meet Adam Shulman?
The couple actually met at the Palms Springs Film Festival in 2008 in Palm Springs, California, through a mutual friend.
At the time, Hathaway planned on being single after her split from her four-year relationship with Raffaello Follieri, who was an Italian businessman that went to prison after they dated due to wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering charges.
Hathaway and Shulman's connection at the party was undeniable. It was so strong that Hathaway was said to have told a friend, "I'm going to marry that man."
"I think he thought I was a little nuts, which I am a bit, but I’m also nice... I’ve never really talked about this, but I was just very honest with him. I knew from the second I met him that he was the love of my life," she revealed in 2014.
Six weeks after the two met, Hathaway discovered that Shulman was single because, at first, she was told that he had a girlfriend. In fact, Hathaway said, “We hit it off immediately, but it took us a pretty long time to get together. He thought that I had a boyfriend, and I thought that he had a girlfriend, so I thought that I’d better keep my distance because I didn’t want to be that girl.” But after they settled that, “things sped up a bit.”
So, she asked him on their first date, which was a trip to New Orleans. Hathaway apparently had an extra ticket because she was already going and her friends couldn't go, so she took a risk and invited Shulman!

After four years of dating, the couple tied the knot in 2012 in Big Sur, California. Even though the ceremony was small and had a low-key guest list, it seems the couple has always had a loving relationship.
Only 150 guests attended the wedding, which included a rehearsal dinner at the Ventana Inn and Spa, and the wedding at a nearby private estate. Italian designer Valentino Garavani styled Hathaway with an "off-the-shoulder bridal gown that featured intricate lace and an embroidery paired with a beautiful full-length veil and vintage-inspired headpiece."
