Who is Staci Felker? The soon-to-be-ex Mrs. Felker is bearing up under the pressure of finding out that her husband, Turnpike Troubadours singer Evan Felker, is not only divorcing her but is dating country star Miranda Lambert!
US Weekly broke the news about Lambert and Evan Felker's new relationships earlier this month. Felker’s band was opening for Lambert on her latest tour and things “just happened” according sources close to the singers.
But while Miranda and Evan may be basking in the glow of new love, not everyone is as thrilled about their relationship. Felker is still technically married to his wife! And if her social media is any indication, she's pretty broken up about her forthcoming breakup.
Here’s what you need to know about Staci Felker:
1. Her private life is private.
There aren't a lot of details about Mrs. Felker. Her Facebook account is private and her Insta is mainly sweet photos of friends and family and pets. She's clearly picking and choosing what she shares about her life, even if the tabloids are all over her nearly-ex-husband.
2. She’s still a newlywed.
The Felkers married in September 2016, meaning their marriage is only about a year and a half old. Nearly half of marriage end in divorce but not all divorces happen this quickly.
3. He’s a cheater.
Evan and Staci weren’t divorced or even separated when he started dating Lambert. His band took to the road to open for her Livin’ Like Hippies tour, which started in January and continues through June. But the two singers started getting cozy even though he’s married and she was still involved with Anderson East at the time.
4. He got the divorce ball rolling.
E! News reports Evan filed for divorce from Staci in February. A source close to the jilted bride says, "Staci found out that he had filed for divorce because a friend called her after seeing it in a local newspaper.
5. She kept the divorce ball rolling.
The E! News source goes on to say that Evan didn’t even contact Staci to tell her what was going on. "Staci wasn't even served with divorce papers so she filed her divorce papers a couple weeks after finding out that Evan filed. He never communicated that to her.”
6. Nothing is final yet.
Sources say the divorce proceedings are still ongoing. Staci is still using the name Felker, not her pre-Evan last name Nelson and her Instagram profile pic still feature a wedding photo of herself and her estranged hubby.
7. She’s handling it with class.
Her social media accounts make veiled referenced to tough times in her life but don’t name any names. Back in March she posted a sweet note thanking her friends for being there for her in rough times.
Yesterday she posted the Instagram story heard round the world, with a sad selfie and the words “PSA: If Staci Felker can make it through this week SO CAN YOU.”
8. She has more class than Miranda's ex.
Staci isn’t the only one weighing in on this drama. Miranda Lambert's ex Blake Shelton got positively snippy on about it on Twitter saying,
No one knows yet where Staci Nelson Felker is going to wind up but it seems like she’s got a lot of class and a lot of grace. And amid this country music scandal, seem like a good time for a relevant country song, no? Bring in Gretchen Wilson! (Sorry, Miranda.)
