Chris Brown Posted A Birthday Message For His Ex Rihanna — But She Isn't Here For It
It's the singer's 30th birthday.
Getty Images It seems like no matter how much distance Rihanna puts between herself and Chris Brown, he just can't stay away.
The singer posted a photo of his ex on Tuesday, wishing her a happy 30th birthday.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY," he wrote in all caps accompanying a photo of Rihanna when she was a toddler.
While some people may have found the sentiment to be sweet, Rihanna apparently thought it was anything but.
"Rihanna has really gotten to the point where she’s just tired of the whole Chris Brown thing,” a source told Hollywood Life. “She’s tired of being asked to talk about him during interviews, she’s tired of the endless speculation, and she’s tired of Chris feeding into the rumor mill by constantly talking about, and name checking, her."
“As far as Rihanna is concerned,” the source continued. “That period of her life is now firmly in the past, she’s put it all behind her, and she’s grown a lot as a person since those days."
"In many ways, Rihanna doesn’t even recognize the girl that she was back then. It seems like a lifetime ago and so much has passed since then.”
Indeed, a lot has changed since Rihanna and Chris broke up back in 2013. In addition to her continued success, she started dating billionaire Hassan Jameel. Though she laughed off pregnancy rumors after her 2018 Grammy's performance, she reportedly does believe that Hassan would be a great dad.
And as for Chris? Well, someone should tell him to stop wishing his ex-girlfriend happy birthday at midnight. But Rihanna, in her classiness, only has nice things to say.
“Rihanna doesn’t wish Chris any ill will–the exact opposite, in fact, she would love to see him happy and successful—but, she really wants that chapter in her life to be closed for once and for all,” the source said, adding, "and for everyone to just move on.”
