The actress and rapper have been dating since October of 2017, although they didn't announce it to the public until the following month. Rumors of the couple's relationship started when they were spotted making out while leaving a recording studio in early October 2017. Later that same month, Thorne shared a pic of the two having lunch.
The couple is now pretty much inseparable and they are quite open with sharing their relationship with their fans, which makes them stand out from most celebrity couples who prefer keeping their relationship private.
One thing no one can say about the couple is that they're boring. They are FAR from boring. That's what makes them so fun to watch. Whether it's Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, etc, this couple is the one to watch, but that doesn't mean that they're not involved in some shady drama. 1. Bella Thorne and Scott Disick dated for a short time.
Yep, Thorne was spotted out several times partying with Kourtney Kardashian's ex, 34-year-old Scott Disick in early 2017, prior to dating Mod Sun. The then 19-year-old and "Lord Disick" even went on a romantic vacation to France for the Cannes Film Festival, shown below. But it appears Disick had ulterior motives for dating Thorne, according to E! News. An insider claimed Scott only brought Thorne along to try and irritate his baby mama. They stated, "Scott bringing Bella is 100 percent to piss Kourtney off. It's a very 'Let's see how it makes you feel' kind of thing. It's immature but that’s Scott."
Well, things didn't last very long between these two. Thorne made sure to point out that out the two were never serious, mostly because of Disick's partying ways. In an interview with Jenny McCarthy on her Sirius XM podcast The Jenny McCarthy Show, Thorne talked about her time with Disick, saying, “I love to go out and have fun. I love to dance, but I just don’t party hardcore like that and it was way too much for me.”
2. Thorne is bisexual — and may have dated her brother's ex.
Thorne has always been super open with her fans with anything going on in her life, from her dyslexia to being sexually abused and her sexuality. After a Twitter exchange with a fan who asked if Thorne was bisexual, Thorne replied with one word: Yes.
Thorne was naturally overjoyed when fans reached out to share their support of her coming out. Then rumors began to spread about her starting a relationship with her brother's ex-girlfriend, Bella Pendergast, after the two shared a kiss on Instagram shown below, although nothing was ever confirmed or denied.
Prior to Pendergast, Thorne was in a relationship with actor Gregg Sulkin for over a year until they broke it off in late 2016. After Pendergast, Thorne was also rumored to be dating YouTube star Tana Mongeau, after the two made out on social media causing fans to freak out. There was also a rumor Mongeau hooked up with Scott Disick and that Thorne was upset, but Mongeau put those rumors to rest on her channel.
As far as Pendergast and Mongeau, Thorne was quick to shut down those rumors after being spotted out wearing a pair of sneakers with the slogan "I love boys" across the band of her sneakers.
3. Charlie Puth accused Thorne of cheating.
After a difficult break-up with Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey, Thorne was briefly involved with singer Charlie Puth, until he accused her of cheating on him in a series of tweets. Though he never named her in the since-deleted tweets, fans quickly put two-and-two together after the duo were spotted canoodling at the 2016 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in Miami just days before Puth's Twitter rant.
The tweets implied that Thorne wasn't broken up with Tyler Posey when she was hanging out with Puth. He tweeted out things like, “I can’t believe what I’m reading,” and “No one should have their heart messed with like this, and I’m not going to be in the middle of it.” He then apologized to Posey saying, “I don’t know Tyler personally, but I know he shouldn't be treated this way,” he continued tweeting and said, “She told me she was not with him anymore. This is all news to me.”
Thorne tried to shut down Puth's cheating rumors by sharing her side of things on twitter.
It seems Puth wasn't quite over it when he released his song "Attention," which fans quickly speculated was about Thorne. Not one to shy away from drama, Thorne posted a Snapchat video of her singing Puth's song.
4. Thorne dated Blackbear, A.K.A. Mod Sun's best friend.
It seems Thorne has a problem pissing off her former flames. More specifically, flames that are your current boyfriend's best friend.
Among Thorne's many rumored suitors, she was previously linked to rapper Blackbear in late 2017, but nothing was ever officially confirmed on Thorne's end. But when she revealed she was officially dating Mod Sun on social media, Blackbear was not here for it, as he and Mod Sun are reportedly best friends.
While Blackbear never directly mentions Thorne or Mod Sun, many believe the tweets were about them. Some even reported that Blackbear subtweeted Mod Sun saying, "u dont [have sex with] ur best friend ex." The tweet has since been deleted.
Strangely, this wasn't the first time Blackbear had something to say about his former flame. In a now-deleted tweet, Blackbear tweeted his distaste for Thorne's previous relationship with Mongeau, tweeting a picture of a news post covering Thorne and Mongeau's new relationship along with another screenshot showing that he'd flagged the news as "irrelevant." The two ladies were quick to clap back at Blackbear in their own tweets.
5. Thorne got a tattoo in Mod Sun's handwriting.
Thorne proudly showed off her new ink in this photo showing off the tattoo with a special message. The words "I Love You" are inked on her ribcage in various colors. Thorne captioned the photo, "New lil tat guess what my other tat says it's on my hip;)." Then she confirmed the writing was done by Mod Sun after replying to a fan's comment on the photo saying, "it's mods handwriting."
6. Thorne and Mod Sun's relationship caused drama with Rob Lowe.
Actor Rob Lowe had no problem publicly shaming Thorne after she tweeted out her disappointment in missing Mod Sun's concert in Santa Barbara because Highway 101 was shut down due to the recent California mudslide that claimed the lives of 18 people. Thorne later claimed she hadn't heard about the tragedy before writing the tweet which upset many, specifically Rob Lowe. Lowe shared a screenshot of Thorne's tweet on his Instagram and went after the former Disney star for her insensitivity.
Thorne never responded to Lowe's diss, but she did address the mudslide tweeting, “just caught up on some news had no idea why the 101 was shut down…get home to your family safe,” she tweeted later that evening.
7. Is Mod Sun cheating on Thorne with dating apps?
Thorne put her boyfriend on blast in her Instagram story after seeing that he was getting notifications from the dating app called Badoo. According to Seventeen Magazine, while filming her Instagram story Thorne kept hearing someone's phone's notifications dinging. "Okay, you know what?" Thorne said in the video sounding annoyed. "Someone seems popular." The next story clip revealed that it was Mod Sun's phone that was going off and getting a ton of notifications from the app.
"When your boyfriend still has a dating app on his phone...," Thorne captioned a photo of Mod Sun's phone with three Badoo notifications onscreen.
