New Evidence Released About California Brain Surgeon Accused Of Raping Multiple Children And Fantasizing About Creating "Sexual Families" To Abuse His Own Offspring
Police found multiple videos that could mean more jail time for James Kohut.
People New charges were recently brought against the human monster that is James Kohut. The 57-year-old California brain surgeon was arrested on 11 charges of child abuse after police say he sexually abused several children and fantasized about creating "sexual families" by impregnating women and their daughters so he could molest his own offspring.
Like I said, human monster.
Kohut now faces 36 additional charges after police found video evidence that allegedly shows him abusing two young boys and a little girl with his two co-defendants.
Nurses Rachel Brandon, 42 and Emily Stephens, 29, were also arrested and originally charged with four counts of child abuse each. Stephens now faces 45 felonies, and Brandon faces 44.
According to police, the GoPro video — yep the same kind of camera you use to shoot your cute vacation videos — was taken between January and May of this year. It shows all three of the defendants having sex multiple times with a 3-year-old and 10-year-old boy.
Another video found was filmed around the same time and shows the three defendants committing a sexual act with the same 10-year-old boy at a motel. Officials say it was over 50 minutes long.
They also uncovered a cell phone video that shows the defendants sexually abusing a 5-year-old girl.
The new charges also claim the defendants abused five children in total, including another girl and a child whose sex is being withheld.
Police have now accused Kohut of even more crimes prior to his time working with Stephens and Brandon. He allegedly raped a 10-year-old boy, engaged in lewd acts with a girl under the age of 14 between 2003 and 2005 and has a fifth victim in 2014.
Police say Kohut has solicited victims for decades.
Proof of that comes from a woman who said she was in a relationship with Kohut from 1997 to 2000. According to her, he wanted to get her pregnant so they could be sexual with the child.
“He told her that he was most interested in children between the ages of 6 to 8," the court document reads. "He admitted that he had been in a relationship with a woman in Florida who had a 13-year-old and a 4-year-old child. He admitted that he had sex in front of those children, and fondled the 13-year-old.
He would explain that he wanted a ‘sexual family.’
He would ask her to recruit friends for him, and he wanted her to call him ‘daddy.'”
Another woman told the same story about Kohut in 2003. He also reportedly had affairs with Brandon and Stephens.
If convicted, Kohut could — thankfully — spend life in prison.
