When I was little I didn’t dream so much about my wedding and being a bride. What I did fantasize was the life I’d have as an adult — the places I’d visit, and how I’d be beautiful, smart, successful, and well-loved. The one thing I never thought about was how I’d be as a wife.
It’s funny but, for a lot of us, our imaginations stopped at the happily ever after. But our dreams shouldn’t end there because our lives sure don’t and getting married is the start of a new chapter, a new journey, complete with new challenges.

Marriage is complicated, challenging, and a whole lot of work. When you’re married to someone, you can’t just go on as you did before; things have changed and you’re legally bound to that person.
Wife isn’t just a noun, it’s something that influences your position in the community, in your household and even how you view yourself. You may be in a long-term relationship for years and then when you get married, although you may not think anything has changed, it has.
