This Windshield Poet Is EVERYTHING This World Needs Right Now

Receiving a compliment out of the blue or hearing something nice that cheers you up can really brighten your day. It might not be very often that you hear kind words from someone else, but that doesn't mean there aren't still people out there trying to change the world for the better.

People like Alex Lewis, who created a project known as Car Window Poetry, hope that with a little kindness every day, the world can become a brighter place for everyone.

His project is centered around, quite literally, putting poetry on car windows to bring together communities and share little pieces of ourselves through words of encouragement and love.

Each note is handwritten from submissions to Car Window Poetry's website and put on random car windows, giving everyone a little bit more positivity in their lives.

Since moving to Colorado Springs, Alex explained to us that he had a feeling that there was something he needed do to bring people together. With help from major influences in his life, as well as his involvement in local poetry groups in the Colorado Springs area, he was able to create the project.

Through this, he hopes to make words the most powerful force around the world; a way to connect with others on a deeper level — and more importantly, show people that someone out there loves them, even if they don't know them.

Believing that even the smallest acts of love and kindness helped Alex in his efforts to grow this project into something huge.

With a segment on NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, along with his Facebook and Twitter accounts, he's able to get the word out there that no matter how insignificant a few kind words can seem, in the end, it can make all the difference in someone's life.

He hopes that his project will pick up interest ALL over the world, so that one day, everyone might be able to participate and spread some much-needed love to their own communities.
