The Totally Stereotypical Way People Judge You, Based On Your Zodiac
Don't assume you know someone just because you know their sign.
weheartit We all know that stereotyping is harmful. When we stereotype, we can make a bad decision that can have negative consequences. When we rely on stereotypical traits, we don't make our own judgments about a person and we often don't get to know who they really are.
We think we know someone because "that's the way those people are." It doesn't matter if those stereotypical traits were ever true because you're not dealing with someone as an individual.
You don't have to learn about a person if you've already got an image of them set in your mind. Stereotyping justifies ignorance and is a lazy way of dealing with a person or a group.
When it comes to astrology, many people stereotype the zodiac signs. They think if they get a few characteristics right, they can make generalizations about every individual born under that sign.
While certain traits can be true for individuals born under each of the same, not everything is the same for every person. Just like dealing with people in the real world, you shouldn't make assumptions about them on very little information.
No one wants to be put in a box and told, "This is the way you are." We all want to be considered as unique individuals with our own ways of looking and dealing with the world. There's no group where each person is a carbon copy of the other, even in families.
In the show Orphan Black, there are clones. Each one may have shared DNA but they are all different. They may look similar or like twins, but they are still vastly different.
When studying astrology, whether to understand yourself or a loved one better, it's best to use the information as a guide. Yes, each sign may have similar traits, but everyone is still unique. Here's what each zodiac sign is stereotyped as.
Aries (March 21 - April 19)

Stereotype: They don't care about risks and have a nasty temper.
Reality: Aries are adventurous and courageous without being foolhardy.

Stereotype: They are stubborn to the point of insanity. They are also so lazy and love food so much that they spend a lot of their time eating in bed.
Reality: While they can be stubborn, they also can admit when they are wrong. Taurus do love good food, but they love all the comforts of home. When they are working, they are very determined and focused.

Stereotype: They have a split-personality which makes them two-faced and flaky.
Reality: Geminis are excellent at seeing a situation from all sides, which gives them to ability to adapt and thrive in almost every situation.

Stereotype: They are so emotional that they border on the edge of psychologically unstable.
Reality: Cancers are empathetic and compassionate. They are familiar with all the feels and understand what others are going through.

Stereotype: Leos are stage hogs who have to be the center of attention at all times. Their only concern is for themselves.
Reality: They are actually very generous, warmhearted and caring. They love people, period.

Stereotype: Virgos are neat freaks who will chew off your head if you drop a crumb on their couch. They'd be annoying... if they had any personality.
Reality: Virgos are really intelligent and love helping people solve problems. Once they feel comfortable with someone, their energy is contagious and inspiring.
