This summer got me thinking back to those good old days where we'd spend our nights meticulously picking out a spot to park, then climbing over the seats, and doing our best to twist and turn into a sex position that felt good and didn't make any of our limbs fall asleep.
Thinking about my car-sex days made me want to give the whole thing another shot. There has to be a better way to go about finding good car sex positions than trial and error, am I right?
Luckily, Babeland's co-founder Claire Cavanah agreed and offered up some tips and tricks for successfully bumping uglies in a car.
Here are her top four car-sex sex position suggestions, and how they worked out when I gave them a try:
1. Stick to doggy style or cowgirl.
When it comes to optimal car sex positions, Claire suggested that we try variations of doggy style and cowgirl.
"If there's a long bench seat in the back, a modified missionary is possible, but neither of you will probably be able to extend your legs completely," she says.
How it went:
She was right about that, especially since my partner in crime was well over six feet. We climbed into the back seat to try reverse cowgirl, pushing the front of the passenger seat as far as it could go. As Claire suggested, I used the passenger seat for leverage as I raised and lowered myself onto him.
Honestly, this was the most comfortable I've ever been while having sex in a car. It was definitely a workout for my thighs, but in my opinion, any day that I can squeeze in a thigh workout while I'm getting laid is a great day.
Once my legs got tired, we switched to doggy style. Claire told me to use the console between the two front seats to lean over, which freed up room behind me for my guy to do his thing.
This one might not work out for the taller ladies since I ended up putting my legs behind me on the seat, which just about fit my 5'2" frame. If you're doing it in a car and want to get your backdoor involved, this is the position to do it in.
2. Give a blowjob in the front seat.
I almost laughed when Claire suggested this, but road head (even while parked) turned out to be a really fun challenge. We both sat in the front seats and buckled ourselves in. Then, I leaned over and gave my partner a blowjob while he fingered me.
How it went:
The restraints that we had to deal with actually made things more intense. My partner kept begging me to unbuckle the seatbelt so I could deep throat him, but I teased him for a while before giving in.
3. Make use of the sunroof.
If you're lucky enough to have a sunroof in your car, you can create some additional vertical space by opening it up and doing the cowgirl or reverse cowgirl position in the front seat.

Of course, the only downside is that you need to keep your noise levels down.
4. Come prepared with a toy.
If you're having car sex, you don't have all the time in the world to go at it. Sure, it's fun to put yourself in a situation where you might get caught, but you also don't want someone in the neighborhood calling because there's a suspicious vehicle parked on their street, and having your fun busted by the cops.
How it went:
In the interest of time (and because I always require a little extra stimulation to get off), I brought along a very discreet vibrator, the buzz vibe, which is so small it could pass as a chapstick. Although it's a tiny sex toy, it does the trick.
