Why You Should Let Him Have A Boys' Night Out With His Friends
A new study says it's actually good for his health.
Has your man has been really on edge lately? You've tried everything you can to help him relax when he comes home at the end of the day, but his mood still isn't changing. It might be time to call in the big guns — aka his male friends.
We know the thought of a boys night out may make you hesitate. Many women wonder whether their boyfriend or husband is better off staying home rather than going out and hanging out with his wild buddies.
Ladies get a bad rep for fearing it, but hey, those guys get rowdy and drink too much together.
Plus, there's always that one single (or taken, but still acts like he's single) friend who tries to make their outings all about him getting laid. You'd prefer to keep an eye on them, but when they do come over, they end up trashing the house. So, that's also a really terrible option.
Those guys are surely terrible influences. All of this can't be good for him, right? Well, apparently it is, because a new study proves a bromantic night out may actually be the best thing for him.
Researchers from Germany's University of Gottingen followed apes, specifically Barbay macaques, to see how they socialize. They found that male apes' stress levels wouldn't rise if they were with their male friends in stressful situations such as low temperatures or facing threats.
It makes sense. A guy is going to feel a lot more protected if he has other men backing him up. If you're still wondering whether you two hanging out alone is just as good for him, then you're sadly mistaken. Barbay macaques felt much more safety in numbers.
So, as much as you would like to solve all of your man's problems instead of proposing some alone time to decrease his stress, advise him to go out with his pals. Who says you can't also have a girls' night, too?
