Top 6 Dating Mistakes Women Make Online That Keep Them Single
This is why online dating isn't working out for you.
As many studies and experts have found, what your dating profile says is just as important as how it looks. While having a knock-out photo is definitely going to lure in those dates, when it comes to procuring something that's going to last, you need to convey to prospective suitors what it is that makes you special from all the rest. That means avoiding the dating mistakes women make.
In other words, you need to use your words, and if you don't know how to use those words — as in, spell them correctly — then you might as well just call it quits now.
A study by Elite Singles asked 1,000 single Brits what was their biggest turn-off in other peoples' dating profiles. Coming in strong in the #1 spot, at 25 percent of singles think it's the worst, is "spelling or grammatical mistakes."

Not too far behind at 24 percent is innuendos (yeah, keep those dirty jokes for the third date, buddy), 22 percent with negativity (sure, everything sucks, but you don't need to bring it up all the time), and 15 percent for lacking a description.
Apparently, those questions are there for a reason after all. The bottom two dating mistakes women make are narcissism and "too many clichés," at 8 percent and 6 percent, respectively.
Although I'm not really sure why a dating profile would have too many clichés, unless, of course, the person behind the profile is, in himself a cliché, then that's just beyond sad.
The study also looked into the top dating profile photo no-nos.
Here are the top 6 dating mistakes women make online that keep them single:
1, Revealing photos
Coming in at #1 and well above the second no-no, percentage-wise, are photos that are "too revealing." I'm not sure if that's in regards to the ever-popular private pictures or something a bit more demure.

2. Wearing sunglasses in photos
In the second spot, at 18 percent, was the complaint of photos in which the person is wearing sunglasses, because, I mean, come on... really? Like, really?! People looking at your profile want to know that you have eyes, man!
3. Bad Photoshop skills
In third place, at 16 percent was bad Photoshopping, which seems absurd because your prospective date is going to see the "real" size of your thighs eventually, but I digress.
4. Bad portraits
And at 11 percent we have bad portraits.

5. Bad selfies
At 10 percent were bad selfies and with no word on whether or not a laser backdrop portrait of you and your cat is okay or not.
6. Party pictures and group pictures
These two also have no love, which leads one to wonder exactly what sort of pictures online daters are looking for.
Perhaps something arranged and photographed by Mario Testino and in the pages of Vogue?
Takeaway? It's hard out there in the online dating world and it's even harder if you're someone who can't spell and likes to be naked in photos all the time.
But while you may not be able to keep your pants on every time someone with a camera is nearby, the least you can do is learn how to spell.
Admittedly, spelling is way easier than staying clothed, so you should at least have one of them in the bag.
