5 Female Comedians Who Can Replace David Letterman
We rounded up five females who can fill David Letterman's shoes -- and then some.
David Letterman announced his impending retirement this week, and it sent the television and comedy worlds into a frenzy. Who could possibly fill the affable, occasional lothario's hefty shoes?
No one. But we found quite a few ladies who could replace Letterman's shoes with stilettos and rock the heck out of a late night hosting gig. And believe us: It was extremely hard to narrow down to just five female comedians.
Nikki Glaser
Nikki Glaser is lovable, hilarious and simply a fun host to watch. On her all-too-short-lived stint on Nikki And Sara Live, Glaser hosted everyone from One Direction (swoon) to Kesha, and her sweet personality combines with a slightly salty persona to keep everything extremely entertaining. And her Robin Thicke "Blurred Lines" parody? Absolutely genius.
Aisha Tyler
Aisha Tyler has a razor sharp wit, stunning good looks and a ton of pop culture knowledge. If she can't break away from The Talk to become a replacement for David Letterman, can we at least get her on Talking Dead more often?
Ellen DeGeneres
Do we really need to explain this one? She's already amazing at interviewing other celebrities, she's hosted the Oscars and she loves scaring the crap out of her guests.
Ophira Eisenberg
Hostess with the mostess of NPR's Ask Me Another, Ophira Eisenberg is smart, friendly, slightly self-deprecating and one heck of a writer (see her book Screw Everyone for evidence). And on top of all that, she's also pretty enough to almost make you angry until she speaks and you remember how smart she is.
Jessica Kirson
Between her hilarious asides, goofy faces, amiable demeanor and insane character creations (here's looking at you, Carol), Jessica Kirson would be an amazing and unique fit on a late night talk series. Just make sure there's chicken in the green room.
And if all else fails, call Joan Rivers and give her one more late night hosting shot. That is, if she's not too busy calling babies ugly.
