YourTango: Kristin Cavallari just got married. What did you think of her wedding bands?
Pascal Mouawad: Although I design a lot with Kristin, I did not do her wedding band. However, I thought they were beautiful. Kristin's was very elegant and simplistic and Jay's black diamond band was very masculine and timeless.
YourTango: What's the up-and-coming trend in engagement rings and wedding bands?
Pascal Mouawad: The trend right now (and always should be) is traditional, elegant and simplistic. You don't really want to be trendy when it comes to your wedding day. Hopefully this will be with you for the rest of your life, so don't think trends!
YourTango: What are the top 3 engagement ring shopping do's and don'ts?
Pascal Mouawad: The answer will be different for guys and girls. Girls will say: size, size, size, Guys will say: cost [laughs]. There aren't any do's or dont's. My best advice would be look for elegance, look to see what makes you happy and that will remind you everyday why you married your partner. Your ring isn't only a reminder for others that you are married; it's a symbol of love for you and your partner.
YourTango: What's the best love advice you ever received?
Pascal Mouawad: Look for someone who truly loves you, a partner that will want to make you happy every day, look for someone that will put you before themselves and allow you to put them before yourself.
YourTango: What did you gift Kristin and Jay for their wedding?
Pascal Mouawad: I wasn't able to make it to the wedding because of my traveling schedule, but of course, jewelry!
YourTango: Any foolproof tips for men when buying jewelry for their significant other?
Pascal Mouawad: Yes. Always get what the women wants!
