One of my guilty pleasures on a cold winter weekend is to settle in and hold my own private classic romance movie marathon. These gut-wrenching, heart-warming tales of regret, love lost and love found, still move me to tears no matter how many times I watch them.

No matter what the era, the classics usually come full circle and the boy gets the girl in the end. Love triumphs, and everyone lives happily ever after. I like happy endings. Life is meant to be full of happy endings.

I recently watched the newest remake of the movie Jane Eyre starring Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender. One of my favorite lines in the movie occurs when Mr. Rochester first speaks to Jane, the newly hired governess, and asks her “And from whence do you hail? What's your tale of woe? All governesses have a tale of woe. What's yours?”

As women, so many of us have our own ‘tale of woe’ that surfaces periodically. We hang on to certain limiting beliefs so long that we actually start believing them to be true. These limiting beliefs keep us from being fully present in life. They keep us from experiencing the happy endings and new beginnings life has in store for us.

I’ve especially found this to be true for many incredibly talented women in business, and female entrepreneurs. No matter how experienced or successful they become, an old wound gets scratched and they hide behind their computers instead of stepping out and generously sharing their expertise with the world.

Limiting beliefs don’t play favorites. They cross all social and economic lines. We all deal with them at one time or another; regardless of what stage of life we are in.
These limiting beliefs and old stories can hold you captive. They can keep you from living a life of abundance, peace and joy. They can sneak in at any moment and negatively affect your relationships, your finances, even your career.

Stop walking around with those limiting beliefs tied to your back like yesterday’s trash, and take time to find your identity again. Discover your truest self, the essence of you, body, soul, and spirit. Take a stand for YOU. If you have nothing to stand for, you have nothing to stand on. Let me get you started.

Here are 4 reasons to stop hiding and start showing up for your life:

1. You are Amazing. There is only one You, and your unique life experiences, gifts, talents and attributes are yours and yours alone. You are a multi-faceted, brilliant gem of a woman with a story to tell. The world needs to hear your story, so get out there and share it with the rest of us. We can all learn from you.

2. You are Strong. Although things may seem impossible at any given moment, take a look at your past successes. You know how to persevere and you have overcome so much already. You are courageous. You are relentless when it comes to pursuing your dreams. Celebrate your accomplishments and refuse to give up. Never, never, never give up.

3. You are Eternal. Everything you do on this earth leaves a footprint. What legacy do you want to leave for the next generation? What you do with your time matters. Be a catalyst for change and inspire us with the brilliant work you do as you collaborate and connect to a vision larger than yourself. Someone is waiting for you to step up and offer a solution that only you can offer.

4. You are Whole. You are complete, not broken. You may have a few battle scars from the journey, but you already have everything you need inside of you to live the life you dream of. In addition to deciding what you want out of life, make a decision on what you are no longer willing to settle for. Circumstances don’t dictate your value. You do.

Get out of that relationship or partnership that no longer works for you and experience the real freedom of being yourself.

Get out there today and be a catalyst for change. Change for yourself, change for someone else, change for the world.  We're waiting for you!
