About Talitha Stewart
Hi, and thank you so much for taking the time out of your schedule to get to know a little about me! I am Talitha Stewart and I'm a Certified Life Coach and Founder of Enlightened Empowerment Coaching. I am also a divorced, single mom to an amazing 17 year-old daughter and my other “baby”, our toy poodle named Smokey. I have been a single mom for several years now, and initially I did not believe that I could do it on my own. I was angry, stressed, and feeling sorry for myself because my ex was not involved in any way with caring for our daughter both emotionally and financially, which left me to take care of everything on my own.
After going through my divorce and getting the issue of custody settled, I went through the process of filing for child support. After going to court for child support, the court ordered that I was to receive $86.00 a month. I was angry and I felt truly let down by the court. How in the world was I supposed to take care of and provide for my daughter with $86.00 a month in child support? I received the payments for some time before I found myself not receiving them at all. I was beyond angry and frustrated by that point! I wasn't able to do the things I wanted to do for my daughter, and I felt guilty because of that. Why did my daughter have to suffer and not have certain things because she only had one parent who was responsible for taking care of everything? I began to wonder how many other honest and hard- working single moms were going through the same thing that I was going through.
At that point, I found myself working hard at a job that I didn't love and didn't find fulfilling, and to make matters worse, I didn't have anything to show for it. But what choice did I have? I had to work in order to provide for myself and my daughter. So what if I didn't love my job or find it fulfilling, I had bills to pay. So what if I didn't have the freedom I wanted to experience from my job, and I felt guilty when I had to miss out on different things that my daughter had going on at school, I had responsibilities to take care of.
I found myself saying, "There has to be more to life than this!" I was tired of busting my butt every day, and still just barely getting by! I'm going to be honest...I was sick and tired of being sick and tired! I wanted to be able to be present and truly enjoy not just being a mom, but to enjoy my life! I was feeling stressed and overwhelmed, and I just wasn't feeling fulfilled and enjoying my life the way that I truly wanted to, which was making me feel that I wasn't fully present and fully experiencing the many wonderful aspects of being a mom the way that I wanted to. It was at that point that I decided that I wanted to make some changes in my life. Initially, I didn't know what those changes were, but I knew I had to do something, because what I had going on was just not working for me. So after some time of me trying to figure things out on my own, I decided that I wanted to work with a life coach. I thought that might help me to figure out what changes I could make to start fully enjoying and living my life. I was hesitant at first and was feeling guilty for spending the money on myself to work with a life coach, but I didn't want things to continue as they were. I decided to invest in myself, my life, and my happiness and I went for it. After the first conversation with my coach, I knew I had made the right decision. I was excited about taking action to begin to start really LIVING my life with joy and with purpose. I experienced first-hand the awesome support and results that I gained in working with a life coach myself. After taking some time to really discover what I wanted to do with my life, I realized that I wanted to work with other single moms like myself to help them feel empowered and excited to start living the life that they always desired, but never thought that they could experience.
So how can I help you? I work with single moms just like you who are overwhelmed, stressed out, and exhausted. You feel like you are being pulled in 100 directions at one time, while trying to tackle that infamous "To-Do List", that never seems to get any shorter. You want to have quality time with your kids and be present during that time, while also being able to actually have some time for yourself, and you are wondering how in the world you can do that.
I help you to find a balance in your family life and work life, while focusing on making yourself a priority. During our time together, you will feel empowered and energized because you will gain the tools and confidence in your ability to manage and prioritize your time, which will allow you to have that much needed and deserved time that you have desired. You will have time for the things that you enjoy and make you happy, which will carry over into your relationships with your children, and the other people you love. Along with the tools and processes you will learn to use, I will be there to encourage you and provide you with support to help you continue to move forward when you face any challenges that come up. While I am there to support you, I also hold you accountable to show up for yourself and to put in the time and effort during every coaching session, so you can start living the life you have been dreaming of!
