About Nancy Slotnick
Nancy Slotnick has been featured on Oprah, the Today Show, and numerous others as a relationship expert. She has a B.A. from Harvard in Psychological Anthropology and is a renowned Life Coach, specializing in dating, love and marriage issues. She has appeared on reality shows such as One Ocean View (Bunim-Murray) and has produced, appeared in, and cast countless dating news segments for national and local television. She is a coach on AOL video and on Match.com, giving love and online dating advice. She has produced an hour-long DVD, as well as trailers and television commercials. Her television pilot pitch was a finalist at the New York Television Festival in September, 2006. She provides casting to nationally syndicated talk shows. She currently has a syndicated radio talk show called Cablight Girls in different markets nationwide.
Slotnick’s discretion is mission-critical to working with high-profile young women. She is committed to a style of playful but brutal honesty and is not intimidated by successful people. In fact, her Most Eligible Program recruits the most successful singles in the country to help them to find the One. She chooses her clients for their eligibility and likes the challenge of helping those who are considered a “great catch,” and don’t know why they are single. She also coaches married clients on how to get more out of their lovelives, and in this role calls herself a Lovelife Manager.
She got her entrée into the relationship business by founding and operating a dating-café in NYC, called Drip. She is responsible for hundreds of marriages. Her recent book, Turn Your Cablight On: Get Your Dream Man in 6 Months or Less, was published in hardcover by Penguin and released in 2006.
Slotnick founded Cablight, a brand which offers a range of services and products in the area of Lovelife management. Cablight also produces a video/dvd series documenting her Program to find the One in 6 months or less. She is a natural interviewer, and these skills have been sharpened in her experiences as a matchmaker, headhunter and anthropologist conducting ethnographic studies at Harvard. Her unique blend of tough love, fun and vulnerability in the dating process has made her famous and entertaining. Her website is www.Cablight.com
Slotnick graduated from Harvard in 1989. She wrote her thesis at Harvard on men and women and their differences in balancing career and family. She then moved to New York City where she worked as an Executive Recruiter, honing skills in business and matching people with jobs. But Slotnick wanted to do a different sort of matchmaking, and she longed to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning a business. So she quit her job, and started research to develop a business based on people’s lovelives, a niche that seemed to be unfilled. From this research process Slotnick created Drip®, a Coffee Bar/Bar with a unique dating service, which opened in June of 1996 on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Since opening Drip, dating and relationships have been Slotnick’s primary focus and area of expertise.
