Moms, Here's Why Science Says You Should OWN Your Sexuality
Your MILF status makes you an even BETTER mom.
Have you ever entertained the possibility that being an uninhibited hot, sexy and sensual mom would actually positively influence your daughter's sexual life when she grows up? Well, research tells us that mothers who revel in their sexual essence affirm a daughter's positive female body image and maximize their potential for sexual passion, pleasure and healthy sexual functioning in adulthood.
"The mother's capacity both to convey her own pride and pleasure in her female body, its sexual and procreative capacities, and to confer the privilege of passion on her daughter is requisite for a girl's full, pleasurable possession of her body and sexuality," Marcus (2004).
It's a blessing that mothers of daughters are their daughter's primary role model and source of identification as a radiant and sexually desirous female.
Did you know that a mother's attitude towards both her own and her daughter's body and sexual functioning has an impact on her daughter's expression of female sexual potency in later life? According to research, mothers who celebrate their own sexuality and female body instill in their young daughters the gift of feminine pride, which lays the foundation for a positive sexual self-image and healthy sexual functioning and relationships in later life.
The study showed that maternal negativity or ambivalence towards sexuality and the female body, however, resulted in disturbances of body image and sexuality in females. Mothers who do not positively embrace their sexual selves and feminine pride run the risk of heavily impeding their daughter's development of a positive sexual self-image and are likely to cause significant sexual dysfunction in adulthood.
A mother who relishes in the delight of her own female body and sexuality models this positive sexual self-image to her maturing daughter. A mother who expresses a positive, accepting and embracing attitude toward both her own and her daughter's female body and its sexual elements enables a daughter to develop a positive and healthy connection with her sexual self in adulthood.
Mothers who present themselves as asexual create sexual inhibition in daughters. "The mother who does not experience her own will and body as sources of pleasure, who does not enjoy her own agency and desire, cannot recognize her daughter's sexuality," (Benjamin, 1998, p.98: as cited in Marcus, 2004).
Mothers who revel in their sexual potency and female privilege pass on this libidinal potential to their daughters.
Research indicates that mothers who fail to represent themselves as sexually celebrated women, and instead come across as asexual (or libidinally generative) or passive sexual beings, cause their daughter's inhibition of sexual pleasure and desire ownership in adulthood.
