It’s about time you recognize just how amazing and unique you are.

Here are 8 tips on how to love your body, so you can discover and celebrate the best version of you:

1. Always be true to yourself.

Most often, people have no idea where you’ve been, where you’re headed, or where you are on your journey.

Focus on the things that make you your happiest and healthiest self. Continue to explore your passions, reach for your goals, and achieve your wildest dreams. Love yourself from the inside out and everything else will fall into place.

2. Know that you’re beautiful, just the way you are.

I know how hard it can be to appreciate your own body, especially when you look in the mirror and all you see are your flaws. Could it be that you are so used to seeing your reflection that you’re overlooking how beautiful you really are?

When others see you, they are not just admiring your physical form; they take into account your personality, wit, intelligence, and so much more.

3. Remember that there is someone out there who wants what you have.

Whether you know it or not, someone has looked at you and wished for your strong toned thighs, your firm round butt, or your broad sexy shoulders.

If you don’t believe me, ask your friends what they love about your body and why. I’m willing to bet their answers will surprise you. It’s time you take great pleasure and celebrate in the skin you’re in.

4. Every body is different, embrace the one you have been given.

With Hollywood standards of what ideal beauty is blasting us day after day, it’s easy to forget that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.

Quit wasting so much time worrying about your figure. Just because you don’t look like a cover model doesn’t mean you’re not beautiful in your own way. Remember this, nothing about you is ordinary.

5. What matters is that you are healthy.

Don’t wait until you are a certain weight to be happy; the numbers don’t relay the whole story. The scale will only tell you the numerical value of your gravitational pull. It will not tell you how beautiful and sexy you are or how much your family and friends cherish you.

Let the weight you lose be what’s lifted off your shoulders when you embrace and love your body.

6. Be busy living your life to the fullest.

More than likely, you have some problem areas you always seem to be working on. Don’t we all?

Life is short. Stop being so focused on the self-doubts that hold you hostage. Quit allowing your physical being to limit and define you. Your time will be much better spent going places and doing things that have purpose and meaning in your life.

7. Celebrate the miraculous things your body does for you.

Have you ever stopped to consider the incredible work that is taking place inside your body every minute of every day?

Your heart pumps approximately 2,000 gallons of blood through its chambers and you take around 17,000 breaths every day. Your brain never stops working, having between 35 to 48 thoughts per minute. You blink almost 29,000 times, and your body produces the same heat as 25 light bulbs in the course of a single day.

The next time you feel like you’re falling apart, think about all the incredible things your body does for you every day because it’s truly a miracle.

8. A self-confident body is a sexy body.

Learn to love the body you’re in and you won’t be so caught up in everything that you consider wrong with it. Self-confidence can make you feel attractive and powerful. From wearing the clothes you want to wear to trying out every sex position in the Kamasutra, a positive self-image is powerful.

It reassures you that you are safe and can take on the world. Actress Vivica Fox said it best, ‘A great figure or physique is nice, but it’s self-confidence that makes someone really sexy.’

There’s no one else like you.

While everyone has a slightly different definition of perfect body image, today’s definition isn’t realistic or healthy. Societal pressures and the unrelenting media is continuously telling you what body image you should be striving for.

Companies have built fortunes promoting unhealthy, distorted body images; influencing customers with unrealistic messages and damaging advertising campaigns, the result being that a great many women and men are unhappy with their appearance.

The reality is that people come in different shapes and sizes. Your true beauty begins to shine through when you are accepting of who you are inside and out.
