About Jonice Webb
Dr. Jonice Webb is known worldwide as the pioneer of Childhood Emotional Neglect (CEN). She not only coined the now-popularized term “CEN,” but also wrote the first two self-help books ever written about the topic, the National Bestseller Running on Empty: Overcome Your Childhood Emotional Neglect and Running on Empty no More: Transform Your Relationships With Your Partner, Your Parents & Your Children. Dr. Webb has developed a 5-stage approach to helping CEN adults give themselves what they never got: emotional awareness, emotion skills, and deeper emotional connections with others. She has trained hundreds of licensed therapists in her methods of treating Childhood Emotional Neglect. Since CEN is hard to see or remember, she also created the Emotional Neglect Questionnaire to help people identify it in themselves.
Dr. Webb has been interviewed about Childhood Emotional Neglect on NPR, CBS Boston Evening News, and NECN Morning News. Her work has been cited by the Chicago Tribune, Psychology Today, Yahoo News, Psychcentral.com, and many more national and international publications. She currently also blogs regularly for Psychology Today. Her books have been translated into 11 languages
To help emotionally neglected people from all over the world access and benefit from her work she runs several online CEN recovery programs including Fuel Up For Life and the Healing Emotional Neglect in Your Relationship Programs.
