About Jan Resnick
I am a psychotherapist and couples counselor, family therapist, and I supervise mental health professionals including psychiatrists practicing psychotherapy, pediatricians, counselors and the legal staff working for the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sex Abuse. I am an Advisory Board Member of ASCA (Adults Surviving Child Abuse, Sydney-based) and an Editorial Board Member of the national journal Psychotherapy in Australia. I have worked with all kinds of people suffering from all kinds of mental and emotional issues and disorders; perhaps especially trauma and complex trauma in particular. I've been trained to work in-depth and long-term, as needed.
I was the Founding President of the Psychotherapists & Counselors Association (Inc) in Perth, Western Australia and served on the Management Committee there for 10 years. I was also the Founder and Director of Training of The Churchill Clinic (Inc), for 18 years - A registered Training Organization and Health Promotion Charity that offered Professional Clinical Training in Analytic Psychotherapy & Counseling.
I have about 100 publishing credits, mostly journal articles, and the author of a forthcoming book on Love and Relationships called How Two Love. This book is the first in the Meaningful Living series of books including books on meaning, health and the meaning of physical symptoms, psychology of money, parenting and interpreting dreams.
I have degrees in Music, Philosophy, 2 professional qualifications in Psychotherapy, and a PhD in Psychology. What matters most, to me, however, is connecting with my patients in a way that makes the professional relationship therapeutic and beneficial.
