About Faith Halverson-Ramos
Life isn't always easy and sometimes words aren't enough to describe what you've experienced.
Has life presented you with some challenges? Maybe you or someone you know has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. Maybe you are finding yourself in a place of transition and you're unsure about how your life is going to change as a result.
This can be very unsettling, and you may be feeling anxious as you try to "figure out" a solution to your problem, only to come up without any answers. You need to talk to someone who can help you to effectively tap into own wisdom and knowing, but you need a different way to express yourself where words aren't needed.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Music Therapist, I use music and the creative musical process to help people:
- move through life transitions
- express and accept experiences of grief and loss
- enhance their sense of well-being
- experience personal growth by becoming more of their authentic self.
Foundational to how I work with people is the understanding that we are more than just our bodies or our brains. My approach is based on a holistic understanding of what it means to be human, including the recognition that creativity and music are important to our overall sense of well-being.
I received my MA in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology with a Music Therapy focus from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, and have completed additional training in Neurologic Music Therapy at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. As a presenter, I have presented locally, nationally, and internationally on the topics of mindfulness and music, and voicework from a holistic, therapeutic perspective.
